Iowa Lands Juco Punter with NFL Lineage

Other than a few late additions, the Iowa football team's 2014 recruiting class is nearly a wrap.

Junior-college punter Dillon Kidd was the most recent addition to the class as he made a verbal commitment to Iowa last week.

I see that his father was John Kidd, longtime punter of 14 seasons for the Buffalo Bills.

He transferred from El Camino CC, previously attended FSU and came from Milford Academy. Hope he provides a spark in a punting battle for 2014 season.

Verbal commitments will become official with the national signing period starting on Feb. 5. A verbal commitment isn't official until a recruit signs a national letter of intent.

The Hawkeyes are still recruiting Southfield, Mich., offensive lineman Chukwuma Okorafor, even though he's committed to Western Michigan. Okorafor told HawkeyeInsider.com that the Iowa coaches were working diligently to land his commitment.

Since committing to Western Michigan, Okorafor has received scholarship offers from Iowa, Arkansas, Florida, Nebraska, North Carolina State, Virginia and Oklahoma.

Hope he picks the Hawkeyes since we didn't get Wallace, but I can't imagine purging from a MAC school to round out this class. The Hawkeyes must have seen something in Okorafor with three weeks to go before National Signing Day.
