Iowa high school state duals

Creston-OM had a surprising run to the finals by knocking off both Denver Tripoli and Ballard. Logan Magnolia vs DB was a very entertaining finals meet to watch.
Actually thought Nashua Plainfield was going to upset LM in the semi's but they lost a key match at 189 lbs that really hurt their chances.
 


Interesting match today between Koethe and Meyer (SEP). Last weekend they wrestled in the consolation semis. Koethe won a close controversial match where some thought he faked an injury in the third b/c he was gassed. Yesterday Meyer handled him pretty soundly 8-4.

Meyer definitely took it to Koethe yesterday. Justin looked gassed by the start of the 3rd period. I have to give Koethe credit as he jumped to 171 lbs for his match against Bettendorf and wrestled hard the entire 6 minutes.

Once again Devoss had a very hard fought match against Clark. (seems to be closing the gap)
 


From what I heard Clark won pretty easily...

The score may not indicate it, but Clark controlled pretty much the entire match.

Clark did win fairly easily against Wakefield even though this isn't reflected in the final score. ( 7 - 5)
Clark definitely had a very tough match against DeVoss. One of the best matches of the day that we saw yesterday.
