Let’s get real, this is what matters and why Iowa has been a success. The NFL. Brian will get a lot of credit for these TE’s ya think? Iowa needs to keep doing what they are doing and do it a lot more. I think the O is gonna get better. Lots of positives to build off in the passing game, which is ok by me. 3 TD’s was nice; that was better. And maybe this game was good for Iowa. They had a lot to clean up this week, had they blown them out, might have not had the focus. I like where we’re at. Hawks 23-17. I’m headed to Ames

I think the efficacy of Iowa's offense depends almost entirely on Cade's health. If he's as banged up as we've been lead to believe, two touchdowns might be the ceiling for offensive scoring. If that's all smoke and mirrors (and I think that is a possibility, very uncharacteristic of Kirk, let alone any football coach, to come out and say "our QB is so banged up, he won't be scrambling or sneaking") the offense could have a coming out party, a la 2016. I do not buy that Iowa State's defense is much to speak of. Solid secondary, but secondary can only do so much if the 6/7 dudes up front aren't taking care of business, and this has to be the weakest crew the clowns have rolled out in the last five years as far as DL/LB are concerned. If Cade can get some early completions (more on the OL protecting and WRs catching balls that hit their hands than Cade) expect some decent production in the running game against the clown front.

Hopefully, Hayden will be on the field and cause some disruption for the Hawks (like the mayhem commercials) Hayden owned teams like Iowa State, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Purdue. It’s head scratching that Kirk has struggled against some of these teams especially Wisconsin. Hayden owned those Wisconsin bitches.

Iowa State had a win% of 34% in the 80s and 90s, compared to 43% in 2000-2020.

Wisconsin was 41% in the 80s, I wouldn't say Hayden was owning them in the 90s as they won 3 Rose Bowls, and they have a 71% winning % in 2000-2020.

NW had a win% of 28% in the 80s and 90s, compared to 53% in 2000-2020.

Not really head-scratching that KF would do worse against those teams than Fry.

Purdue has had roughly the same win% in the 80s/90s (42%) as in the 00s/10s (44%). But they have had higher highs and lower lows during KF's career. He has struggled with them during their highs, and Brohm had his number.
