Iowa has a tough path

Good news is they avoid seeing SC's side. Bad news, they could have a 3rd match with K St in the Sweet 16. Also Colorado in the mix.....and even in Drake in that spot.

Then UCLA and LSU are lurking behind that.

I think the worst part is facing a KSU team that is very familiar with Iowa and knows how best to stop them.
Definitely a dick move by the NCAA to draw up drama. They want must see TV....and Iowa will draw it with either K St, Colorado, Drake, and LSU for sure. All story lines there.

And then you have UCLA as a big time match up.

The USC angle....if Iowa survives....could pit now (Clark) vs the future leading scorer (JuJu).

It really seems like the NCAA tried to build up ratings for each of IAs sweet 16 on in games. Not that they need to.

A sneaking bright spot is having Princeton coming to Carver. We'll get to see PG K. Chen play. Would be really great if Carver would really empress her to want to play here. That's the only good thing I see about our brackets.

Being a #1 seed sure doesn't mean a heck of a lot. Get a cupcake in 1st round and then 5 tough games the rest of the way. All I know is if Iowa does make it to final 4/championship game there's no poo pooing it or debunking it. They'll have earned it. That's for sure.

As Coach Bluder says we can't control the bracketing. We just have to deal with it. We did not need any help from the network as far as ratings go. We have proven that.

Facing Kansas State without Molly Davis is daunting, IMO.

Syd and McCabe are capable back-ups, but neither is a play-maker. McCabe is basically a small two with an excellent 3-point shot, while Syd is a scrappy do-it-all type, but not the type of player that will break down a defense and distribute to make teams pay for face-guarding Clark and/or pressing. KSU is very adept at both.

If we are hitting from the outside and our back-up centers are at least contributing on both ends, we can beat anybody, but the margin of error will be razor thin, especially if Molly can't return at close to 100%. Right now she can't even practice. Not looking promising unfortunately.
