Number one nobody wants to roll through the slums of Des Moines on there way to an Iowa Football practice.

Number two Drake is a University not a high school.

For all those whiners, Valley Stadium is set in a bowl. Those with out tickets will still be able to see from outside the stadium.

Should be a good time looking forward too it.
 
I suggest anyone looking to visit a tailgate, check the side streets between 50th and Mills Civic. Many a Hawk fan will be enjoying an adult beverage prior to walking over to the stadium.

It is my understanding that Iowa looked into doing it at Drake, but Drake was going to be using the stadium...or they just hate Iowa.

Why would a university allow another university to hold an event in their stadium? I know it isn't like they are rivals or compete to recruit the same players, but that just wouldn't seem right.

If it's bigger, it's not by much. The Valley/Dowling game gets bigger crowds when the game is played at Valley than it does when it's played at Drake. There is no questioning that Drake Stadium is a worse facility.

Drake holds 15,000. Valley holds anywhere from 8-10,000. Thats at least 50% larger

Maybe the tickets reflected standard time + 2 hours?
 
It was originally going to be at 2:30. It was changed to 1:30. The baseball game may have been a factor in the change.
