Iowa Football Players Kick Off NIL Club

Interesting. I was wondering why there is a cap of 2,000 members. Is this a regulation or is the cap set by the NIL team so that they can provide members with the benefits promised? I would think an Iowa fan base would support much more than 2,000 members if allowed. I haven't heard of any regulation limiting membership. Maybe they are cognizant of the benefits they state a member will receive and want to make sure they can follow thru with the benefits. That's all I can come up with.

Looks like players are going it alone, that's what happens when a team doesn't look forward. Change is coming better to ride the wave than have it bury you.

The NIL Club guarantees a meet and greet and members only tailgate, I’m assuming if 10,000 people bought the pass and wanted access to either of those it’d be a major problem and cause more disappointment than anything.

What surprises me more is the price. $199 ain’t bad at all and I’d think they’d be able to sell the full 2,000 at $1K a piece if they wanted to. There’s plenty of donors and semi wealthy people who’d buy a couple just because of the limited number and availability for resale. That’d be 2 million bucks right there.

2,000 x $200 = $400,000. That's a long way from the $13 mil the Ohio St. coach was saying he'd need to be competitive every year. Have to assume there will be other 'service' opportunities coming, organized by the university and paired up with businesses to expand the pot.

I would have had a $199 for registration and access to a site for information and ability to discuss. I'd set a $899 price or even higher for the tailgate and meet and greet option. Die hard Hawks fans with $$$$ burning a hole in their pockets would pay that easily,. Hell, charge $1,000 for the tailgate and personal meet and great and provide to the first 2,000 first come first serve.

Hell, that would be $2,000,000. Then add into that the $199 site registrations for an unlimited number. Let's just say 10,000 cheap people signed up for that access. That would be 1,990,000.

Total $3,990,000.00.

I think you could set that at $5,000 and find 2,000 people that would pay that.

Man, aren't there any individuals with financial or accounting background in the NIL group!!

I'm making an assumption this is not University backed, if players are setting things like this up and making these promises on top of their studies, practice, and other commitments talk about a wild west show. How many players are in this group and will there be other students setting up their own clubs. So many questions.
