iowa football history

That's impossible. That site clearly shows that Iowa has won football games without Kirk Ferentz as head coach. Several posters have noted that we can never hope to do better than Kirk, and that Iowa will never be able to field a competitive team without him as our coach. These are very clearly made up stats, and you should feel ashamed for posting your misinformation here.

Anything that's happened over 4 years ago is ancient history and completely useless mumbo jumbo. The game's changed....what have you done lately? It's this kind of crap that encourages mediocrity.

Cecil, I 'wikied' Iowa Navy Pre-Flight and you were right. In 1943 they beat Iowa 25-0 and finished ranked #2 nationally and in 1944 they beat Iowa 30-0 and finished #7...interesting...Thanx

Coaches were Bernie Bierbaum(of Minny fame) one year, Don Farout (Mizzou- Farout Field) in another's, assistants were guys like Bud Wilkinson. Great players from around the country trained for the war and were on the team...lots of Hawks, Harmon from Michigan, Evy, I think Bump may have played for them too. Don't hold me to each of these names....working from memory of past reading...but great, great players and coaches were in IC to play ball and serve their country
