Iowa favored by 2 over Gophers

How in the helll is this possible. Is this from the same folks that thought we had one of the best Olines in the nation.

Favored by 2, at Minnesota. I don't get it.

Whatever the reason, Vegas knows best. There's often a difference between what Vegas actually thinks, the real line, and what Vegas posts as the line. That doesn't mean they're always right but they usually are.

I hate the goofs as much as I hate anything but I will be betting my paycheck on the goofs. Sorry, unless this is the Hawks 2016 version of 2008 pawned state, I see this being Minnys QB greatest game since he hates us so much.

This is such an easy money game that it makes me think something is going on here. I'm not a betting man, but this seem incredible to me.
 
PSU's OL is only slightly less inept than Iowa's and they beat Minny. Something clicks for Snyder and Taylor (and, hopefully, Parker and Davis). Croston is tired of alternating between getting his butt wooped and getting penalized. LeShun continues to make the Goofs his bitch. Iowa wacks-a-mole ...

Just as an FYI, Sagarin has Iowa as an 8 point favorite. If I was an outside observer my thoughts would be that money is probably pouring in on Minnesota, as Vegas wants, and Iowa will end up covering and making Vegas a shit-ton of money. (it is a myth that Vegas wants 50/50 action on every game, if they have a team at -6 internally and the public is willing to go 95% on the other team at +2 Vegas will happily take all of that money)

I can't reconcile that with my current view of Iowa football, but if I had to bet I would probably bet on Iowa since that is what experience with betting (aka losing lots of money) has taught me.
 
What could the odds makers know that we (Hawk addicts) don't know ? They usually know something..
 
MN hasn't proven anything other than losing to a mediocre PSU. NW actually had some good games. Iowa is still considered solid. MN isn't so much.
 
Well we haven't seen improvement in the last 3 games so why should we believe they can do it at Minnesota.Just don't have faith that the coaches and players can turn it around in 5 days.

Gopher here living in Iowa. My take: Minny hasn't played anyone (weaker schedule than Iowa) and Vegas recognizes it. Oregon State, Indiana St (FCS shame on us both), Col St (really bad team) and PSU ( a really bad team and we still lost). With home field advantage on the Gopher's side, a +2 for Iowa seems about right. Iowa is so predictable, the entire offensive and defensive scheme is so old-time and predictable. Sadly, it should be a good game.

NW game was easily winnable. NW certainly has played a tougher schedule. It was a toss up and at the end was a toss up. Once we all get over the huge disappointment going back to the Rose Bowl and look that Iowa in fact had some very big holes to fill, it's reasonable. Last year CJ did crazy heroics to win a number of the games. He can't do it this year for a number of reason and the interior D and O line isn't nearly as good.

I still don't care for KF. We could have done worse than him. We certainly could do better. Thx to Barta we won't know for awhile. Within 24 hours I've been called a KF apologist and a hater (not on this thread though.

To Be Clear: I don't like KF. I rarely have liked KF. I felt guilty last year. I don't this year. Doesn't matter as he's here for awhile. Hopefully it doesn't get worse. I'm not optimistic about this year due to lack of speed and you can't coach that up. I don't understand how a long term coach has so many bad years. I don't understand how a coach with so many bad years has so many great years.

To make an economic comparison, this is like the 1920s. A number of bad years with some great years just before the Great Depression. Hope this isn't the start of the Great Iowa Football Depression.
 
This is the most unbelievable line I've seen in an Iowa game in a couple years. The goofs must be even worse than we think. Although I don't know what Iowa has done to even remotely impress oddsmakers.

That Sagarin spread sort of worries me. Vegas isn't usually that far off Sagarin and when they are it usually means go the other way.
