Iowa falls to #15 in the AP poll

Who is Cesar?

Cesar Guererro, Fran was the only big time coach who noticed and offered him, I believe. We had him. He was standing up and cheering behind the bench during the game which was a turning point for the Hawks under Fran. Beating the Spartans his first year was another one. Portents of things to come.....

Cesar was ours until he went to Oklahoma State, not certain who he is playing for now.....

I think Ohio state's troubles contributed to our larger-than-expected drop off.

Not only did we lose, but our biggest win seems to have lost a lot of value.

We can get it back. Just win.

It still goes down as beating a top five team....

But some of the glamor is gone.....

Yeah, he was sitting in the endzone with Oglesby and Hubbard at that Purdue game. He threw his lot in with Okie St. and really didn't play much after being given the starting PG role early in the season. Once the Cowboys got Marcus Smart, he decided to move on and find that traditional "school closer to home."

Isnt Cesar a type of cat food?

Why, yes, I prefer the Porterhouse Steak Flavor with Meaty Juices.....

I'm still not seeing how this win has been diminished. Ohio State has lost one...I repeat one...home game this year. Until someone else wins a game at Ohio State we have done something no other team in the country has done.

Good point ... and their stock will probably rise again, thus making our win look better. If we are their only home loss of the year, I think that counts as a signature win (But, I also think we'll have a few of those).

But, since these polls are often a snapshot, I can see why some voters would have dropped us more than we think is logical. BUT, I think we'll prove ourselves again.

Conventional Hawkeye Wisdom has always suggested that Iowa performs better from under the radar. Well, we aren't getting that this year (and it's awesome) -- but maybe a small slight in the polls will allow the team to continue to play hungry. I'll take it.

I get what your saying but can we all please stop with the under the radar stuff. To some of us its nothing but an excuse for failing to meet or maintain expectations of those outside our fanbase. IMO nothing about the basketball program is under the radar at this point. We're getting the attention we rightfully deserve.

"Iowa falls to #15 in the AP poll" - that's a title to a thread many thought we'd never see 5 years ago.
