Iowa City Dual Question

I see that on November 19th, we are hosting the Iowa City Duals. Scheduled to face Iowa Central at 4pm and Coe at 6pm. Are Iowa Central and Coe also going to wrestle in a dual?

Went down to the first Iowa City Duals when we PACKED the north gym of the Fieldhouse. It was neat to see so many duals in one setting!

I have a question to add to this. I will openly admit that while I enjoy watching Iowa Wrestling, I have never made it to an event in person. Also, I don't even pretend to uderstand all of the "ins and outs" of wrestling. I understand the basics...a takedown, a pin, reversal, etc. That's about it. So, this question of Dual meets got me thinking, can someone explain to me how the dual meet works? As the OP questioned, do the other teams wrestle the other two teams also? Are the same wrestler's required to wrestle against both teams? That is, if Iowa submits its lineup for Team A, then that same lineup must also wrestle Team B later in the day?

Does a fan need to purchase tickets to both meets or does one ticket get you in the door for the day?

Thanks, and sorry for asking questions that are probably the easiest things in the world for most of you to answer.

Welcome to the board!

No you do not have to wrestle the same guys against each team and I would fully except to see different guys in the lineup these first few meets.

One ticket will get you in all day!

This is a great chance to see alot of matches in one day hopefully they have more teams coming.

From the article linked below:

The complete list of teams is still being finalized for the Iowa City Duals, but Iowa’s opponents have been determined.

“We will wrestle Iowa Central Community College and Coe College,â€￾ Brands said. “There will be more teams there but they will wrestle outside competition. We won’t wrestle them.â€￾

Thanks for the link. I hadn't seen that article before. Two things of interest. Iowa wrestled 5 opponents at last year's Iowa City Duals. I wonder why only 2 this year, especially since Brands wants to use early duals and open tournaments to determine starters. Also, I checked the NWCA site and there's still only 14 teams slated to fill the 16 team roster for National Duals. Makes me wonder if they're holding a slot as long as possible in case there's a chance Brands changes his mind.
