Iowa Bowl Projections Thread

Teams lose, and this stuff changes each week...as do the projections based on outcomes

Which begs the question: what's the point of even doing 'projections' in mid October?
Way too much football left to play before the silly season should commence.
But I guess it generates discussion, eh? :p

I find it to be a lot of fun. I love college football and it's a weekly analytical process.

One thing I want to bring back up in fairness...last week I openly questioned how ESPN was putting TCU and Boise in BCS games..I do not believe one of these teams will be taken as an at large selection and I still feel that way.

HOWEVER...they could both automatically qualify. While there are provisions for just one non-BCS conference team to gain an automatic bid, being in the final top 8, there is the other provision that if a team is ranked in the Top 4, they automatically get a BCS bid...so in the event that two BCS buster schools are in the final top 4, they both get automatic bids.

i predicted at the beginning of the year Iowa would go 10-2 and play in the fiesta bowl against the Okie/Texas loser....which would mean Texas. Iowa vs. Texas in the Fiesta bowl.....Its not going to happen, but I'm gonna stick with it.

I am not going to get carried away yet on bowl projections. iowa still has two very tough games coming up against Wisky and MSU back to back. Lets see how we fair against them. I do like our chances against them, more then i did Michigan. After the 2 previous mentioned teams, we have our two biggest thorns coming up, Ind and NW. I rather not play either of those 2 teams. Throw out the records with these two teams. Somehow those two coaches just love beating iowa a little too much. I never see them get as worked up during games with other teams as they do Iowa. Then we have OSU. They may a a few issues right now, but they are still Ohio St, and we still rarely beat them. MInny is a give me..

So i think iowa has some pretty tough games ahead the next 5 weeks. I talk bowl projections after the Minny game.

Indiana has no running game. They are one dimensional to start the game...I am not worried about that one Of course, the NW game is a different story

Texas has A LOT of ground to make up in 6 weeks if it is going to become BCS eligible....they can't lose another game or they are pretty much out of it.

Jon, weren't they pretty one-dimensional LAST YEAR when they were about to go up 4 TD's before the TMFS pin-ball pick 6?

Deace has a 10-2 Ohio St going to the Sugar Bowl. Jon, do you think a two loss Big Ten will get a BCS Bowl bid this year?
