Iowa Big Ten Champs - 1500-1 odds

Some sports books have Iowa as 15-1 for outright Big Ten-welve Champs. I cant think of a better way to make money, aside from prostitution. If there ever was a year to do it (low expectations, all games winable, Black Friday showdown for Legends Title) this is that year. There are ?s about defense, but the defenses Iowa has had the past 10 years have all been solid. If Vandi and the RB's have a good year, there is no reason why the Hawks cant win outright. I believe it, and you can take THAT to the bank! $100 wins you $1500. My kids piggy bank just received an IOU.

The scenario you just explained in your 2nd to last sentence would be 15-1 odds. 1500-1 odds would mean you bet a dollar and win 1500 if the Hawks win the Big Ten.

My math says you would win $150000 on a $100 bet, but I was never very good with math so I am likely wrong...

I've generally seen the Hawks at like 100-1 or better to win the national championship so I'm thinking you are right in this being basketball...

I see where Iowa is +2000. Not to bad of a futures bet if you ask me.
Edit: Let me explain (incase you dont know) that = 200 to 1. The standard bet is $100 so $100 will get you $2000 (thats the +2000). $50 will get you $1000. If you could place at $1 you would get $200.
There are not to many teams below that, we are at the same line as ILL. So they are giving good odds now, but like I said, I expect that will change the closer we get to the season.

If it's - the - number is how much you would have to bet to win $100. So -130 you would have to bet 130 to win 100 (Not 100% sure i explained this one correctly.)

Are you talking to win the national title or B10 title? There's no way Iowa is 200-1 to win the B10, there's basically no way you could lose money at all with those odds.

Whoops your right, my bad. Added an extra 0 in there. He is right it's 20 to 1 odds. As for the name calling, whatever, I like my track record, so you can kiss my azz. But then again people like you just like to point stuff like that out. People like me have more numbers lying around this time of year than most people do at tax time. So I f ed up. Back off!!!! If people like you dont like it, ingnore my posts and do your own homework!!!! I would never purposely pass along bad info and if and when you went to place said bet, you would figure it out fairly fast when it tells you what you will win. Still does not change the fact ILL and Iowa are at the same line, with MN, NU, Purdue,Ind being the only teams with higher odds. So again I say Iowa this year is not a bad futures bet. I stand by my thought that those odds will go down the closer we get also. I think in the next 3 to 4 weeks it will drop to +1600 or so.

That was completely name calling. You called him an idiot for posting the 200-1 odds ($1 to win $200)....but the rest of of the post was all accurate information. Ever accidentally have a typo in a post?

The typo you should have gotten mad about in this thread is the opening title claiming 1500-1 odds...when its only 15-1.

I will also say if what he said is true and they are offering +1500 where he got his info, and I got mine at +2000 today, then what I said last night to my better half is already starting. Those are good odds for the Hawks and they will go down. I wished they offered a "they wont meet those odds" I have a few of those teams for ya to.
