TTUGL- my boss just walked by like 4 times. I have a response though.
Either Parker has no athletes to put in the secondary or he just doesn't know how to stop a passing attack.
Okay since paul has been at ISU he has went 24-27 <<<<losing record
Kirk in that same time period has went 30- 21 with a 11-2 season <<<<< Winning.
Iowa is the better program and will get the W this weekend. Since its on the road it will be closer than the Mo State game. Im going with 27-17 Hawks win.

Wrong. Longer tenured coaches are at a sizable disadvantage because they have a lot of tape out there and tendencies are easier to identify. The most dangerous coaches are the young guys who are backed into a corner and who will do anything to win, even if it goes against the book. Guys who do fake punts, onside kicks in the first quarter, etc.
Maybe, there is definitely a mystery about them. But longer tenured coaches have kids that have practiced in the system longer, know the playbook better and should have a better continuity. You have kids that should fit you style of play. New coaches bring in a new system and spring practice is not going to be effective preparation for what comes in September. Sure they can throw in some wrinkles, but you cannot run flea flickers every single play.
Be curious to see what records of new coaches are their first month that are at a non blue blood football school. Doubt if it is north of a .350 win percentage . Could be wrong though.
Also some of it might depend on the circumstances of how a coach got a job. I say depends, because if a guy leaves a program for a better program, in most cases he probably leaves the new guy with a nice stable of players. If dude was fired, the next season is probably going to tough for the new guy.
For ISU, Chizik left, but he left in late December which impacted recruiting , and he was around all of 2 years, and was 5-19. Clearly Auburn made one of the strangest hires in football. Don't think he left the cupboard empty, but he really did not win either. Paid off for Auburn (paying Cam Newton) in the short term I guess.
Okay Im back.
Yes I posted the records in my first post. Its very simple this year. A team with a powerful run game that can slow the game down will destroy a awful ISU defense. Usually this game has a lot of guess work but this year the outcome is almost given. As long as Iowa doesnt lose a couple running backs this week in practice Iowa takes this game no problem.
I know they're a 1aa team, but Missouri State averaged 4.2 yards per attempt on 14-30 passing. Those are very poor numbers.
Meanwhile, last week 8 different 1aa teams beat 1a teams.
Don't let your hate consume you.
Iowa 28
Iowa State 7
This is a bad bad football team folks.
