Iowa BBALL is BACK!

They are fun to watch. They played tough when they needed it and held on, on the road. The players that are leading are going to be around here for the next couple years. Go Hawks!!!
 
The last two games have been incredibly fun. Beating Wisconsin and/or (and we could win both) Minnesota would be awesome.
 
What a game!!! I thought I was going to have a heart attack when Victor Oladipo (Spelling?) nearly tipped that thing back in... First road win in a long fricken time and it's great to see
 
Tough win on the road like that is just what Fran and this program needed. Hawkeye basketball isn't back yet but it's on the way!
 
That was such a fun game! Those teams didn't play like the #10 and #11 teams in the conference. They both wanted to win bad and played like it. That was amazing to keep our cool and keep fighting even when down 10. There were some very bad calls that helped get us down that far. With the way they called fouls on McCabe I'm wondering if he nailed that one refs daughter.
I'm definately a fan of Fran. I definately believe he will right the ship. Atleast when we lose it is still interesting ball. When we do win it's great to watch!
 
I don't want to get too hyped over a win over a not good Indiana team....ahhh screw it, we haven't had much as Iowa basketball fans to get excited over.

That game reminded me why I loved college basketball so much growing up. I can't get over how fun it was to win that game.
 
Cartright has a knack for hitting big shots.
I root hard for Gatens, but man o' man if he ain't hittin he frustrates the crap out of me.
Basabe's had a huge 2nd 1/2. Game to game if he can be consistent that would be huge
Offensive and defensive lapses continue to happen. When it happened this game we found ways to stop the bleeding, usually a bucket or assist from Cartright.
Cole was a TO waiting to happen. Yikes!

bcl, IU may not be that good, but they had some huge wins and that was on the road. I'm pumped with the win.

Hell yeah man! Get excited! That game was awesome. Any time we roll into Assembly Hall and win is a good day.

Game ball has gotta be 50/50 to Basabe & Cartwright. They played their a$$es off today! Go Hawkeyes!

Exactly! Im not saying Iowa bball is back to being great or good at all. But Iowa bball is back in the sense of being fun and being tough. We never give up and it finally payed off here today.

I was leaned forward on my couch, nerves going crazy on that last play. I dont even remember the last time I was like that about any Iowa bball game. So for me, yes, Iowa bball is back.
 
Very excited for this program as it starts to turn the corner so to speak. Basabe, Marble are the future of this program. As well as Basabe has played, Cartwright is the MVP of this team. Where would Iowa be without him. I really feel Iowa is turning the corner a bit. Just need 2 more recruits like Basabe and things are really bright! Man that was exciting basketball.

Usually I'd agree, but Indiana has been playing as well as anyone not named Ohio State in the Big Ten lately, and they were playing that way today, too. This wasn't the same Indiana team that we beat by 20, not even close.
 
The Hawks are a team you really don't want to play right now, if you are trying to make the tournament. Indiana is also playing real well. Big win for the Hawks.

Assembly Hall was as loud as anyplace Iowa has played this year. I was really impressed how the team hung in and battled back. I was thinking they were done when Indiana went up 10. Very entertaining win and a great game.

How did you like Matt's late game offensive rebound....a major contribution to the win. As Fran said in his post game interview with Bobby, "Gattens was solid, shots weren't going down, but he was doing the things we needed him to do."
 
Boy the way things have gone for this program I was positive that tip in was going in. What a fun game, and this team is turning the corner for sure.
