I know it is way too early to do this, but I'm excited about Iowa BB. I purchased season tickets for the first time in a long time. I looked at the schedule and it really seems like there a large number of winnable games:
1. Non-conference schedule: 13 games; tough games at ISU, at UNI, Clemson, at Creighton (Des Moines).
I really think we have a realistic shot at going 10-3 in the non-conference.
2. Conference: 18 games, but with 2 games against Nebby (as bad in BB as they are good in FB).
Total record: 17-14 before BIG tournament.
I think we make a post-season tournament this year (but not the NCAA).
This all assumes that all players are on board academically and are basically injury free (no one misses a meaningful number of games). This of course is a big IF.
Game by game breakdown (for what it is worth):
1. NW Mo St Exhibition - doesn't count
2. Chicago St W
3. NC A&T W
4. N ILL W
5. Creighton (DM) Toss up
6. Campbell W
7.IPFW W
8. Clemson Toss Up
9. Brown W
10. at UNI Toss Up
11. at Clones L
12.Drake W
13. Central Ark W
14.Boise St W
15. Purdue L
16. @Wisky L
17.@MN L
18.Ohio St L
19. @MSU L
20.Michigan Toss Up
21. @ Purdue L
22.Nebby W
23.@ Indiana Toss Up
24. MN Toss Up
25.Penn St W (they will suck)
26.Indiana W (just lost their best player to achilles)
27.Wisky L
28.@ILL L
29.@ Nebby W
30. NW W
31.@NW L
32@ Penn St W
I count 9 Ws in the non-conference, 6 Ws in the conference, and 6 toss ups. If we win 40% of the toss-ups, we finish with 17 Ws.
