Iowa Basketball: Hawkeyes Fan Investigated for Dan Dakich Death Wish

This is about as much news as the rumor about IOWA being investigated for Deflating
Basketballs during the OSU game............or, that the Patriots deflating FBs had any bearing on
outcome of AFC champ game

Some guy on the TV used some words I didn't like - I wish someone would shoot him in the head!

Wow what a mouth breathing waste of DNA.

I'm gunna go out on a limb and say he was being extreme to get a point across.

Oh, i hadnt thought of it like that. Then this is kind of like when they screwed up my order at Taco Bell and I responded by dropping a deuce in the middle of the parking lot. I could have just explained to the cops that my actions were defendable under the "extreme behavior to get a point across" umbrella.

I guess that's what I get for not clicking on the article. I thought he just said someone should shoot him. I didn't realize he actually did shoot him.

I was being extreme to prove a point - I would have expected you, of all people, to appreciate that. :)

By the way, are you actually sad to live in a world where people might sometimes feel compelled to apologize for saying something they later regretted? I think that is how your comment sounded, but I would still really get a good kick out of hearing you elaborate on your "you know what's wrong with this country? Politeness!" motif.

I knew that's what you were going for but obviously there is a big difference between saying something to prove a point and actually doing it. If you had to apologize for saying you should take a dump in the parking lot it would be ridiculous because clearly you weren't going to actually do it.

I picture a guy who said something in jest and it got blown out of proportion because he was dumb enough to put in on Facebook when he's a cop. It is so blatenly obvious he didn't actually want someone to shoot him in the head but he is forced to apologize because of the politically correct world we now live in.

Just so I know, what political motivation do you feel is behind someone showing remorse via an apology for saying they wished someone would meet a violent end to their life? Which political position is it that would stand in opposition to that in your view?

I doubt he said what he said, had a change of heart, then decided to apologize. He apologized because of how blown out of proportion it got and he felt pressure to.

I saw a post at Bucky SBNation today with a death wish for Woody.

I'm pretty sure he was taking an extreme (and, if I may say so, hilarious) position to prove a point. Also, I doubt he is sorry. Now, let us all consider this matter closed, lest I should feel the need to sling some vaguely reasoned accusations of political correctness around here.

Nahhh. You were just returning to Taco Bell what they gave to you: meat-like paste.

I'm pretty sure you're right. That would be pretty messed up if he really wants Woody dead.
