Iowa Athletic Department health

So, anybody know how healthy it really is?

STL paper is reporting today that the Mizzou athletic department is $15 million in the red on $180 million gross revenue.
This, of course, prior to pending revenue sharing with athletes. Covering with an internal loan from the university.

Is this normal? Is this common? Or is Mizzou just really that Mizzou-y? Or are we going to see a similar article about Iowa? I assume unless Mizzou really is that Mizzou-y they won't be the only one. But anybody know how common this is gonna be?

edit: red, not black....
I've had a particularly frazzled day.

Yah....I'm an idiot. I meant "in the red".
I was referring to something else being in the black earlier today and got confused.
Frazzled day touring yet more assisted living facilities for my parents. As I've told my kids, "you can decide to have children or not. Totally up to you. But, whatever you do....don't have parents."

At least my kids won't have to deal with this. I'm ready to move in now. Apparently I'm foggy enough to not be able to post sensible message board posts, I might actually have to move in somewhere.
