Iowa and Iowa State

I'm a fan of both schools. Since they were both on at the same time, I channel flipped back and forth. Dramatic differences between coaching, quarterbacks, and intensity on the field. If Campbell stays at Iowa Sate, I can see him getting some of home grown talent that normally goes to Iowa.

He already is getting talent from Iowa. Also, our genius of a coach and dynamic recruiting staff chose Sargent over 4 star rb Jahriel Brock. Great choice. Now we will get to watch Brock tear it up at ISU while Sargent runs for 2 yards a carry.

Campbell ain’t staying at Iowa State, y’all. Urban is retiring, and the Buckeyes are coming calling. Even though I’m not bothering to source it here, the secret is out on Campbell. There are SEVERAL publications and sources who say Campbell is is gonna have a hard time saying no to Ohio State.

I agree if Ohio State calls, he will probably go. Since he is from Ohio and they would probably double his measly 2.3 million from Iowa State. Higher expectations there but also will get better recruits. His rise of the ranks reminds be of Brad Stevens. He was assistant to head coach who went on to big name school. Then when promoted to head coach has outstanding record. Prior head coach promoted to big name school does poorly. Seems that the assistant coach was reason the head coach had done so well. Ring in if you know the head coaches in questions.

I do know that central Iowa has now become Cyclone country. For every person I see wearing Hawkeye gear, I see 5 wearing Clone gear. You see a person wearing Hawkeye gear and it is immediate eye contact, it is like “hey, I am not alone” kind of feel to it.

1. He's making 3.5 Million at ISU not 2.3 Million.
2. OSU isn't such a sure thing. I'd actually think the Browns would be more of a place he'd like to be.
3. Your sources are wrong, there is no secret out.

Just a quick, simple google search brings it up. Let alone listening to college football podcasts and tv outlets throughout the week. Of course it’s all speculation, but there is a helluva lot of smoke about it. Iowa State fans best be prepared for him to leave.

None of those people know Matt Campbell. They're doing their job. Remember when Kirk was a shoe-in for the NFL?

I don't get the Iowa State dillusion that Campbell would stay there long term when all evidence and common sense says otherwise.

They'd be much better off enjoying the short time they have together

Iowa State has never lost a coach to Ohio State, though. It's a lateral move at best.

I have been saying that for years.

Answer to my trivia question: Matt Campbell followed Tim Beckman who took over head coaching job at University of Illinois. Record for 2012-2014 was 4-20 and got fired. Brad Stevens took over as Butler University head basketball coach when Todd Lickliter went to Iowa. And when know how that turned out. See the similarities.
