Iowa and Iowa State this weekend

First I hear this is a trap game. UNI has played well against in state schools (ask Iowa State) but if Iowa cant line up and beat UNI at home on our worst day then there isn't much hope of us beating Wisconsin on our best day. Clearly our offense is bad. Isn't it interesting that a QB a lot on this board were talking about possibly leaving early is now not very good. Well he ain't leaving early and I still am somewhat optimistic he will have a good year. Our defense appears to be very good but then again Northern Illinois scored 6 points at home against Utah and Iowa State was playing first game which may have been a significant factor. We will know with more certainty in 2 weeks. That aside I think Parker may be a better coordinator than I have given him credit for in the past

Iowa State Oklahoma could be more interesting than an 18 point game. Clones have some playmakers on offense and unlike years past a very good defense. OU is without their best player and they dont play great defense. Kind of makes Parker look better as he does it without all the 4 and 5 star players OU has. For Iowa State it comes down to offensive line and QB. I think I would take Iowa State and 18

I think Iowa will destroy UNI. They aren't as good as they have been. And with the way Iowa's defense sets up, I can't see any way they get any offense going.

I think 18 is too high for ISU but I don't think the game will be in doubt at any point in OU's favor. Everything we're hearing is that Kempt is going to be out.

I caught some of the Uni/Montana game, UNI didn't impress me much

If UNI starts Eli Dunne, Iowa's D line should be able to get to him and disrupt all day. I wouldn't be surprised if they went with their other more mobile QB or if they split time or he eventually takes over the QB position in the game. Eli Dunne is a statue QB and he had -155 yrds rushing last year, which most likely were all sacks.

I don't see UNI overcoming Iowa's D line which will make the QB play faster and disrupt UNI.

Iowa needs a blowout style game....no more of this slow/awful first half crap. Come out swinging and never let up.

If I'm an Iowa State fan I'm worried about the revenge blowout game. Oklahoma is gonna be pretty pissed about last year and you know that game has been on repeat all week in their locker room.

Oklahoma currently a 17 point favorite against the Clones and that may be light.

This is one game where the score will not be run up. 14 to 17 point win. Lots of 2nd teamers in by the end.

I pick Iowa to win by at least 14. I also watched some of the UNI at Montana game. This isn't a good UNI team that we're used to seeing.

I'm also picking ISU to beat Oklahoma. I think ISU's defense is legit and it's at Ames.

I will play center for the Lakers before ISU beats Oklahoma in back to back years.

Iowa's defense should produce a shutout. It looks like UNI's rush defense might be decent, but their pass defense looks poor. If Stanley is throwing balls at receivers' feet and guys are dropping perfectly thrown passes, this game could be closer than expected. That said, there's less than 1% chance we lose this game.

Stats from last week's game:

UNI had 16-42 passing for 164 yds 1TD and 1 INT; had 39 carries for 108 yds
Montana had 27-40 passing for 273 yds and 2 TD and 0 INT; had 28-77 rushing, but RBs had 13 carries for 19 yds. QB had rest of carries and yards.

As much as I hate saying this, we need to be pulling for ISU to beat or at least make a close game against Okie and the other ranked teams they play. The better they do, the better it makes us look.

Iowa will do fine against UNI. Don't expect much more than what we've already seen tho... runs all day

I don't think ISU pulls this one out, but crazier things have happened. Their offense went MIA last Saturday and I don't see that happening against a Big12 team. I truly think missing that first game really hurt them.

The Sooners are gonna come in pissed. Kempt is out. Who knows if there's a hangover from last week's Super Bowl. ISU better be on it's game or they'll get crushed. I could see em keeping it close with good D, or getting blown out. Neither would surprise me.

Iowa should man-handle UNI. Don't expect to see IKM or ISM, even if they're capable of playing. Offense won't show much either (insert your joke here)...anything they're working on will be saved for Wisconsin unless they want to give them something on film to distract em. Could be one of the most boring home games in a long time...probably see plenty of backups in the 4th Qtr/ 31-0 kinda grind it out....31-7 if the backups give up a cheap TD

Offense is still vanilla so as not to show too much before Wiscy, but due to the talent disparity and more details coming together, blowout from start to finish.
