Iowa a 6 seed

This is what happens when you don't take care of business on your own.

Beating a team 3 times in a season can prove to be difficult.

Let's hope that isn't true against NW but plays to our advantage against Sparty.

The positive spin I think we can take is if we could pull off the upset overt Sparty, that is the signature win of the year... I still believe they are the best team in the conference and would instantly boost the confidence for a team that is in desperate need.

First things first... Beat the cats. We won't blow them out again. I say we win but they keep it within 10.

Sparty cannot and will not go 3-0 against Iowa this year.

Hawks will handle the Wildcats, then eke one out vs. Sparty.

How about instead of Iowa using the arm bars and hand checks as an excuse they learn to deal with it? They know it will be coming, stop being pansies about it.

Yea cause its equally easy to win when getting grabbed and pushed as it is when you're not. It's no big deal, just deal with it and win anyway.

Exactly. What else do you expect them to do? Do you want them to just roll over and give up because MSU is going to be overly aggressive?

No. The Hawks need to be overly aggressive and force the refs to swallow whistles for both teams or call it the same for both teams.

The Hawks have 45 fouls to give; MUS the same. Last man standing wins. Let's do it.

I wonder if Fran will actually consider this. He has seen this game play out to many times to not know what's coming in the second half.

Our best bet might be to get down double digits at halftime. That way izzo won't come out fouling like that. We might have a chance in the second half to come back and get the lead. Once that happens it will be to late for izzo to change his strategy because it will be to late in the game to re train the refs.
Sounds fantastic. Get down by at least ten points on purpose. We may have no problem eith that coming naturally.

No, I want them to try as hard as they can and not get called pansies by fans when they lose a game. Especially when they're playing by a different set of rules than their opponent.

Ha I'm only half serious. But a 10 point deficit might be easier to overcome than getting grabbed and pushed the whole time and getting touch fouls at your end to help make up for the foul disparity.

I count more fouls to give. We can use okey, dennler, meyer, and stokes. They all might as well foul hard. The worst ths t can hsppen to them is an ejection. Oh well.

Some of you actually still believe our season wasn't a disappointment?

The last six games have been a dissapointment, absolutely. The season, not in my opinion. And if it ends as a disappointment, its because Fran and the boys had enough success to raise our expectations beyond simply making the Dance.

Plus, the season isn't over yet, so couldn't be a disappointment yet.

Of all of the teams to draw in a potential 2nd round match-up, I think that we drew the toughest one. I just don't know where we would have gotten points at on Thursday night if Dev wasn't hitting everything he shot. They came out hot too, but that was due to a lack of defense on our end.

It was a fun season to start with, now it's just frustrating watching this team make the same mistakes down the stretch each game. Especially the indecision and turnovers.

Now that the Hawks are in the 3rd leg of the season, hopefully Fran has something up his sleeve. As others have stated, this team has talent and can "play" with anyone, but now it has to "beat" someone and remind the committee of why they were ranked and hyped a month ago.

Iowa gets the 6 in the BTT, ...................Thoughts?

Toga Party.

As poorly as we are playing I think it would be hard for MSU to beat us three times in one season - advantage Hawkeyes. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

Beat NW. MSU game will be a question of officiating. Will arm bars & hand checks be called throughout the game?

We all know the answer to that one.

One would hope that the refs would be rather fair in the tournament, but they are Satan's minions.....
