Iowa: 5.5 point favorite

Seems a little high, but we'll probably, temporarily, put out that dumpster fire this Saturday, and finish 7-5.

some 7-5's are strong and others are weak.

One thing that is always true about 7-5 teams is that they are inconsistent

They're calling for strong winds again so we won't be able to throw with Captain Noodle-Arm in there. It will interesting to see what Ill does at QB. Our offensive line has been awful against any DL with a pulse, but Ill's front is pretty bad. Of course, so were ISU's and Ball St's. The biggest factor here is that Ill still thinks they can make a bowl with 3 winnable games left. What exactly does Iowa have left to play for? The emotional edge goes to the Offensive Native American Stereotypes. I also can't seem to get Iowa's last trip there out of my mind, when maybe KF's best team lost to a 5-7 Zooker squad. I could really see this one going either way.

Iowa was 8-1 against the spread in road games going into the Minny game. Obviously, they are now 8-2. The teams' manhood will be challenged this week and there won't be any strutting or puffed out chests. The Hawks have shown they can bounce back and I expect them to against Illinois. Doesn't mean a win this week will make me feel any better about the last 2 home games. The inconsistent play will likely rear it's head against the better competition.

A divisional title and a spot in the league championship game, with a BCS berth on the line. Thing is, that was true last Saturday, and look what we got. I have no idea what to expect next weekend.

The Illini are starting Lunt at QB....so they will throw it around...he has a strong arm.

I do not like Iowa cover. Two weeks off for the Illini, and Lunt back, with a need to win 2 of 3 to save their coach's job.....Iowa will be lucky to get out of there with a one point win.

If KF goes with Jake at Qb and Weisman at rb, we are in big trouble. Everyone in the league knows how to stop that combo. Press coverage, run blitz, make Jake beat them deep.....in windy conditions, not likely.

Iowa has outscored opponents from Illinois this year 48 to 7! Also coming off games that the ncaa does not recognize as wins this year Iowa is undefeated. Winning by and average of 22.5 points per game. Signs are all pointing toward a big win for Iowa.

Yes at least 21. It depends on how much Iowa lets up on them in the second half as far the win is. However with how angry they are I don't see them letting up much at all. They have frustrations to let off and Illinois will be the victim.
