Iowa -4.5 over MSU

wait, you know, I not that surprised ... I thought we'd be favored, just by less than a FG

oddsmakers don't believe that the hawks will give away two in a row at home. wisky is the real deal, and we gave them the game.

How does #18 get favored 4.5 over #6??

Because Iowa, by all accounts is the better team. However, as shown in the AZ and Wisky games, the better team can and will pee the game away.

That said, I think Iowa picks up the pieces for this game. Lot of talent on this team, its just not being used very well and is being wasted by some of the worst special teams in cfb history and overall poor coaching.

We're going to beat 'em. I've been watching MSU so far and they're just not playing that well. And they're either wishing we had won, or they will be.

If I were a betting man I would take the hawks in this. This coaching staff has been good at getting the team to rebound and play well after tough losses.

If people were watching the Wisconsin game, all MSU has to do is pass. Iowa will give MSU's defenders 5 yard cushions all game and Iowa's line will not pressure Cousins except for a couple of time. Iowa will stop the run but Cousins will have all day in the pocket and will pick Iowa apart just like Wisconsin did and Iowa will not adapt whatsoever to disrupt Cousins. Iowa just does not do that. MSU on the other hand will blitz and give Iowa fits and will play tight defense on Iowa's receivers and try to disrupt Iowa's passing game. Like Wisconsin MSU will show some balls and will try to do some things on3rd and 4th downs and will not be ultra-conservative and ultra predictable and will probably win the game and will, like Wisconsin, want to win the game more than Iowa does next Saturday...This is why Iowa only gets to play in a BCS game every now and then, like every 8 years or so. I have accepted that fact finally with this staff.

With this staff, we are good enough to play in Outback Bowls but we have the talent to be playing fairly regularly in BCS bowls. They are just so conservative that they are not going to take any kind of chances and we just have to accept that if they are going to stay at Iowa. We have a ultraconservative coaching staff that does not that have the talent of a Ohio State who also has the same type of staff. They however have the talent to get into BCS games (and even NC games) every year, whereas we have the talent to get into BCS games often but don't.

We also have to get by OSU every year and we play just like them thus we get beat every year because they have more talent and we might even be more conservative than their staff (example--last year).

I believe after last Saturday's fiasco, that in future years, I will be happy if Iowa wins 8 games a year. Any more will be cream in my opinion. I just got my hopes up to high with this team and the talent they have. The coaching staff just is not going to "go for it this year." They simply are not going to take the best team they have ever had and take chances...in fact, if anything they have even become more conservative. Instead of trying to make a statement to the country they have curled up into a ball and told the country that yes indeed we are just a bunch of sizzle...that is Iowa. Other teams take chances and do great things, not Iowa...Too bad.
