Iowa #24 in AP poll

I would ignore Lunardi's brackets....I highly doubt he is going to have the same matchups the selection committ has. We'll find out on March 16th who we play.

You're right.... we get much better insight from posters on this board.

I mean you called that win over Purdue... am I right??

Well duh. Lunardi doesn't post NIT projections.

Wow, I was just wondering how far out the Hawks would drop. Still in?? That's crazy man. I am sure we are catching flak for that.

The b'tology I just looked at has Hawks at a 6, playing winner of the play in Minney/Arkansas game??? That aint gonna happen (although i would love to cream the Goofballs one more time). Then possibly against ISU the following round? That is totally messed up.

I'm showing that we play the winner of Minny/Tenn. Which could put us against ISU in the round of 32!!!

Bracketology - NCAA College Basketball Brackets and Predictions - ESPN

^it's been changed, we were in TX's spot in the Midwest bracket a couple of hours ago. More proof that besides getting an idea of your current seed, bracketology is completely worthless.

Ohio State dropped to 33...realize that's not a ranking but where they are based on points. I'm not sure they can beat Michigan State bad enough to get back in the rankings next week...especially with MSU at 22.

I think Joe has gone off the deep end. No way that happens. Joe is usually pretty good at predicting who is in, but match-ups are much tougher.

Doesn't surprise me at all. A tooon of teams lost and lost badly last week.

Iowa lost to Wisconsin in a close game and dropped 5 spots last week, so I expected to be unranked after two losses this past week. I guess the rest of the teams around us also losing must be why. I'm not complaining, that's for sure.

Really hoping for a W in East Lansing and stay ranked, but that will be a tall order. Guess all I really care about at this point in the season though is finishing strong, earning a decent seed, and going on a tournament run. The NCAA Tournament is all about who gets hot at the right time. I just hope the Hawks are one of those teams.

I am still holding out hope that Iowa and UCLA will be in the same region and the basketball gods will finally pay Hawk fans their due and matches up the Bruins and Hawkeyes.

#6 seed is way too low, Iowa is easily a #4 seed or higher. I hope the selection committee is not as screwey as they were last year, that was just crazy on their part, and the nit for dropping Iowa to a 3.

Lunardi isn't even really trying to give matchups. He just assigns seeds and automatically slaps them into brackets. Thus, his brackets are essentially worthless. It would be so nice if someone even tried to make a bracket that paid attention to the rules for matchups.

This. I give some credence to his seed projections (he's usually at least in the ballpark), but the matchups are rarely even close to what we'll see on Selection Sunday.

If Iowa beats Sparty and Illinois to finish the year they will be a 4 seed unless they lose in the first gae of the BTT. The big 12 are going to beat each other up to finish the season. It should free up a few spots in the brackets.

Jerry Palm >>> Joe Lunardi....It is pretty easy for anyone to determine the projected teams in the field but Jerry will do a better job at placing them in the correct region
