Iowa #19 in both polls

My biggest question about the Gophers is what are they going to do when they have to play against a starting QB? Earlier this season when they were playing against starting QBs, their run D stunk.

They still have not played a game against a B1G team who has had their starter in the whole game. Nebraska and Purdue were also without their top skill position players when they played the Gophers.

But as you guys said, their skill position players are great and their OL is also coming together well. If they had a better QB, they would be really scary. Until I see him get it down when everything is on his shoulders, I still see Wisconsin as the clear favorite in this matchup and the division.
This is good analysis, and honestly sounds very similar to the way the pundits have described Nebraska and Purdue the past two years. The differences in their records shows how much getting all the lucky bounces vs very few (And of course key injuries) can affect middling Big Ten squads with some very strong units but also some glaring deficiencies. Scheduling can be a huge help, too.

Minnesota will not be able to run at all. Morgan will have to be a pocket passer, and I don't think he is going to have much time. Minnesota has some big lineman, but PSU's defensive line is elite and will run around them, gap them, etc. It will be very difficult for Minnesota to score at all. I know they have some really good receivers but I doubt they see the ball much.

On defense, Minnesota has shown to really struggle against the running quarterback. This game will look a lot like the Iowa-PSU game, but I think Minnesota makes more mistakes and PSU capitalizes on them.

How the AP voted, regarding Iowa.

Quad-City Times, Steve Batterson has Iowa at 18, which is in-line with many AP voters.

Mark Whicker has Iowa at 14, and he is usually all over the map.

Dave Reardon is in Honolulu and has Baylor at 8, Minnesota at 12 and Iowa not ranked.

Minny has feasted on turds. Not sold on their D. I feel dirty saying this, but pulling for Penn St to lay boat wood to the goofs.

Why feel dirty because if you are an Iowa fan you have to want for PSU to beat Minny. Even pull for PSU. I dont like PSU anymore but I always pull for East teams to beat our West rivals.

I dont know maybe the last times I really pulled for PSU was when they beat Miami Convict U in the Natty Champ about 30 years ago or more.

Dave Reardon is now the official mascot of
Da Haterz Squad.

Good find.

Don't care for Fleck but HATE Pedo State. Don't care who they are playing I will never root for them. Hoping Pedo State pulls a Wisconsin at Illinois and gets smoked. Just as soon every West Team beats every East Team every time and let head to head play determine West Champ.

You better pack a lunch. You're going to be waiting a long time for this to happen.

They are absolutely loaded at the skill positions...good backs and receivers. What I'm questioning is the offensive line and the defensive front seven. That's where the game is going to be won and lost the next four weeks for Minnesota.
They do have a gigantic OL, especially the right side. I think they average 335lbs.
