On total body of work, seems about right. As far as which direction we're trending offensively, probably a bit overrated.

Ask me again next week though. I still won't have an AP vote but I may have a different opinion.

Cause they aren't playing like a 14th ranked team right now, at least offense wise, not even sure they are playing like a 19th ranked team........but we still have a few games left to solidify ranking and post season position.

Offensively your right, but at what point do you then give credit to the defense who's been playing like a top 10 team all season. At the end of the day the only thing that matters is wins and losses, and were still sitting at 7-2 as a team. I'm not saying I agree with it, but were a 2 loss team in a power 5 conference, I think that means were doing some things right.

Most of the voters in these polls never look past "What were they ranked last week?" and "Did they win or lose?"

Iowa deserves to be somewhere in the mid-teens given total body of work. With the offense breaking in a new and potentially more dynamic QB, against some average competition, Iowa still has a good shot to move up to fringe Top 10.

Iowa has now lost to two pretty good, very good teams who can beat a lot of other teams. Purdue has beaten #'s 2 and 3 if you cant match up with their passing game. So who you lose to matters. Remember Purdue clobbered Ohio St in 2018. Voters who take the time to look at Iowa's body of work should see some really good wins against IU at the time, PSU and ISU, 3 mediocre wins in jNW, Kent St, and Colo St.

I would put them at #20 or so because our offense cant keep us in games against other teams with powerful offenses. The hawks defense cant be called on every game to slow down teams whose offenses our humming along. I hope bad Minny shows up Saturday and the hawks make them look worse.
