Iowa 16, ISU 24 in first CFP Poll

That is much higher than I would have expected. But I guess it makes sense if you consider everything. They have controlled a lot of the games they have lost.

No poorly timed or poorly positioned turnovers and score in the redzone and I like the chances on Saturday.

Even at 8-0 we wouldn't be ahead of Michigan and Georgia. Michigan's going to get a lot of love for playing Notre Dame even if they didn't win. Their wins over Wiscy and MSU would have offset our hypothetical wins over the Badgers and Nittanies. We would have had to meet them and beat them in the CCG.

I actually think PSU would have been a better win than Michigan’s MSU win. I understand MSU won heads up but that’s like saying Purdue is a better win than tOSU.

Michigan's win against Northwestern is also looking better and better. But I expect the wildcats to lose their next two.

I think this shows that lots of Iowa fans have zero perspective of the college football landscape. The fans that say we have played a crap schedule (#19 in Sagarin SOS) don't know WTF they are talking about. Also the fans that think that good teams don't lose don't know WTF they are talking about. There is 1 P5 team in football that has only lost 1 game while playing a top 20 schedule, and that is LSU. That is why Iowa is such a highly rated 2 loss team.

It's kind of like that with most fan bases, Iowa seems like it more because that's the team we follow. Rarely are people able to enjoy what they have until it's gone. It's not easy to consistently win over 7 games a year in college football otherwise everyone would be doing it. We consider it a shitty season cause we're spoiled. I think healthy criticism is a good thing and Iowa blew 2 huge opportunities this season and didn't seize the moment when they had a chance. That's a kick in the dong. I want them to kick the door down and do something relevant too.... but it's not easy, or again, everyone would do it. Unfortunately, it's a select few that typically do. It sucks, but don't get it twisted. Iowa is one of the better football programs in the country. No one fires coaching staffs that win every year... so save the "fire everyone" takes. You know of a place that does? Cause I show you a disaster of a athletic department. You think Stanley should be benched? If that's the case, than you don't want Iowa to win, because he gives us the best opportunity. I wouldn't mind seeing PM get a series, but to bench a guy who has built this kind of equity is irrational.

Probably helps that ISU is finally getting some wins.
