The goal line. CJ awarded a touchdown. Great play! Great effort considering his injuries.
If the ball had left his control before crossing the goal line, and gone out of bounds inside the endzone, would it be a 'touchback'...ball placed on the 20 and opponents possession?
Radio ( Gary and Eddie ) guys were discussing it during the review. Seemed very close on slow motion.
Thx for any clarification.

Didn't the ball actual land out of bounds at the one half yard line? It didn't appear to land out of bounds in the endzone. It still would have been Iowa's ball.

Yes.

The ball went out of bounds at about the half-yard line. Iowa's ball.

Yes that would be a touchback if ball goes into the endzone then out of endzone. But it was a TD and even a a reversal would have put it at about the 6 inch line as it didnt go into the endzone

When I saw ot live I was very nervous to see the replay. I thought it was 50/50 that they would reverse it. I highly doubted they would call it a touchback though.

And why would you have cameras near the goallines but not lined up right down the goal lines. Both cameras were not directly in line with the goal line.

The ball appeared to go backwards so if it was ruled that it was loose before crossing the goaline, I don't see how they could rule a touchback.

If the ball had be fumbled into the endzone BEFORE CJ extended it to the goal line (BTW CJ, quit extending the ball) and then rolled into the endzone and then out of bounds, it's a touchback and Indiana's ball because, at the time it rolled out, NO ONE WOULD'VE HAD POSSESSION OF THE BALL. I had all kinds of high blood pressure waiting for the determination from on high.

You seem like the sort of fella who has high blood pressure all the time.
