When Iowa has a record above .500 for a season, the Hawkeyes have lost their final home game of the season just twice in the last 51 seasons (1984--1 pt. loss to Michigan State, 1959--1 pt. loss to Notre Dame). Overall, since 1959, Iowa's teams that have been better than .500 are 21-2 in their home finales.

Iowa WAS over .500 before the Western Michigan game in '07 on Senior Day...but they lost that which put them at 6-6. That was the worst game I've ever been to.

They didn't finish with a record of over .500 is what I think the OP is trying to say.
