Under no circumstances should this team have lost at Minnesota, rebuilding or not. Should have 8 wins right now going for 9 next week.

Agreed, but would guess Okie State fans are saying the same thing about losing to Ames.
And oh by the way mediocre programs don't win the Orange Bowl
We're in the top 15 in winning percentage since 2000.Read an interesting thing online, the UofI football program is worth TOP 15 MONEY WISE in collegiate football.
KF is paid top 5.
My problem is return on investment, technically speaking, we should be right there with the top 10 collegiate programs in the COUNTRY.
Yet, most years, we are not. We are mediocre...... HORRIBLE RETURN ON INVESTMENT!
Yes, this program makes money, but that is because us fans are morons more than anything.
Return on investment = pathetic!
Rip me if you want, I'm not saying it's ok to settle for mediocre season at all. But this year is kinda what I expected, as well as what I read from others prior to the start of the season.

Kansas Jayhawks.
January 3rd, 2008.
Defeated the Virginia Tech Hokies in the 2008 Orange Bowl.
You could argue that not only is Kansas a mediocre football program, it's a below average program.
You lose hoffahawk. You lose real bad.
Of course they are. What point are you trying to make?Agreed, but would guess Okie State fans are saying the same thing about losing to Ames.
If the minny game was a win instead of a loss i think 90% of Iowa fans would be ok with the season to date.
This 100%.Good teams year in, year out in conference play beat those teams they should (Minnesota, Indiana, Purdue this year). This staff has a terrible record against lower division teams in the B1G. Playing .500 career ball against these teams is terrible. THAT is what drives most Iowa fans bonkers is this staff's ability to lose to the poorer teams on a regular basis WHEN Iowa has more talent, in some cases much more talent.
Yet they can beat Michigan, Penn St and other top teams year in year out in the B1G.
If this staff consistently beat the poorer teams, Iowa would be a very good team and this would truly be a great staff. I think the fans can see the potential of this staff but they refuse or ignore their potential because they are set in their conservative ways. And fans know that this staff is not going to change and probably will continue to lose to the Minnesota's and Indiana's in the B1G. They would rather play the poor little Iowa has no sizzle routine than take the bull by the horns and be a truly great staff.
We are blitizing more this year but ONLY because the front four are incapable of a decent pass rush. And many of the blitzes have worked very well. Sometimes you get burned but is there a difference between getting burned and letting a QB get very comfortable in the pocket and repeatedly converting long third downs and sometimes long 4th downs?
Good teams lose games they have no business losing.

People are (rightly) concerned that we're seeing a trend. Two consecutive 7-8 win seasons is worse than an 11-win season and a 7-win one.
