What happens to Iowa if;

Texas / Alabama both get beat and Arizona wins at Cal? How many spots do we move?

Well right now it's looking like Texas and Alabama will lose. Let's just hope Boise State loses tonight because if they get through Oregan State they won't be beat the rest of the regular season. Certainly looks like there's a good chance a 1 loss team could be in the NC if so many top teams are getting losses this early in the season. Remember it's always better to lose an early season game than a late one.

Predator - Alabama won't drop below Iowa

Not trying to be a smart *** but for lack of a better way to put it isn't that kind of stating the obvious? I don't think anyone was saying they would drop below Iowa. Regardless, them taking a loss this early in the season is a good thing for the Hawks. It certainly raises the chances of them ending the season with 2 or more losses.

I definitely think Texas would drop below Iowa. Losing to an unranked team with a losing record at home. Not good for them.

Texas better drop below us, they are getting sch-lacked, and they have been in close games all year never proving they are a top ten team. Last week I think we were the highest ranked 1 loss team if I am not mistaken. There is no way Alabama will fall below us and they shouldn't since they are defending champs losing to a top ten team. But any other team that loses ranked ahead of us should fall at least as far as we did.

Arkansas will still be ranked behind Alabama, but right behind them. Texas will drop out of the top 10 but not down into the teens. Iowa will stay right where they are.

I totally agree with this. They lost to a 1-2 unranked team AT home. Iowa lost on the road to a top 25 team. Texas should fall to about 20. But unfortunately the pollsters don't think logically like that. They drop no further than 15...remember it stills says 'TEXAS' across their jersey.

We are the highest ranked 1-loss team.

Texas SHOULD fall behind us, considering how much they're losing by to an unranked team with a losing record at home...

Alabama, who still isn't totally out of it, wouldn't likely drop out of the top 10.

We SHOULD get a chance to perhaps move up into the top 15, but who knows....
