Thanks for the links.

Sociology to me is one of the most interesting topics there are. I loved it in college and it's kind of a shame that the only way to make a living just in that field is research or teaching. There are related fields obviously, but those are all in the application of it, not the informational side of things. It's not an exact enough science to reliably apply it and know you're doing the correct thing, unfortunately. Similar to psychology. Psychology is one I really have no interest in just because the brain is way too complex to understand with more than just a little bit of vague confidence. It's semi-educated guessing that's really not very worthwhile at the micro level.

Sociology on the other hand is observed at the macro level and you can draw good conclusions and make interesting and reliable predictions based on correlation without the need for causation. I guess that's me saying the correlations are way more interesting (to me) than the causation.

I posted it on here because as I was listening to Sapiens, Chapter 2, and the idea of imagined realities (e.g. Gods and religions, nations, LLCs, money), it made me think of you, for some reason. It seemed like an idea you would get a kick out of.

I added the link to Guns, Germs, and Steel because there was so much crossover between these 2 books written decades apart by people from very different backgrounds. Sometimes the accidental coincidence of encountering 2 pieces close together in time leads to a heightened meaning in both.
