Insanity= doing the exact same thing over and over, expecting different results

As I've posted elsewhere, there's another conservative coach (besides KF) in the college ranks that's been pretty successuful against competition much tougher than the B1G. Yeah, that's right, it's Alabama.

Wow, name all the exotic schemes Alabama runs on offense. Describe the need for the potency of Alabama's offense.
Now, describe the potency of Alabama's defense.

If Iowa's defense under Ferentz had been anywhere as potent as Alabama's under Saban, Iowa might have been in a few Rose Bowls or national championships.

Explain why, on Hawkeyenation, there's ONLY the mad rush to to fix the offense...

With the NFL roster that is Alabama they could win running a single wing formation playing 8 men.

What's pathetic is you making a personal attack on someone just because you disagree with their opinion.

"KF has been doing this for 14 yrs. :( Would someone plz put a straight-jacket on him?! He is ridiculous. He and his schemes are pathetic for a high school coach, let alone a super-high paid college coach. I love my Hawks, but HATE that KF is the coach. Feel aweful for the players."

Personally, I'm fine with 4 more top ten finishes, a couple Big Ten Titles, an Orange Bowl or two and a dozen other bowl games. What's pathetic is you and your level of loyalty to the Iowa football program. Your spin on things is ridiculous and trust me, the players don't want your sympathy or whatever misguided delusions your cooking in your (Mom's) basement.

What's pathetic is people like you & the Op trolling this fan message board daily, posting the same crap over and over and over. Calling the Hawkeye head coach pathetic & insane from behind your little keyboard. Everything based on your perception or projection - never any real facts or intelligient thoughts. Not one of you know the real reasons behind anything and I don't either. One things for sure, it's not your latest conspiracy theory or line of hate. Wierd...you say your a fan, but you aren't loyal to the program at all. You don't want to know the truth or search for it....just spin more hate. Maybe you could drive off some players and discourage a bunch of recruits from coming here too...FAN!!

So what is it that attracks these Bubbas to the slum state? $$$$ To a program that was down for several years? $$$$$$$ I just don't know what it possibly could be? $$$$$$

Dude. Here's a stat...6th highest paid head coach. 8 yrs of mediocrity at best (I am throwing out the 2009 anomaly). Have you even watched a game in last decade. Same exact scheme on defense, regardless of our talent or team we are playing. Run the same 8 lame offensive plays from the same 3 formations. Every game CHOKE FULL of ridiculous clock management, delay of games, mis - managing timeouts, never any real in-game adjustments.

Only thing that saved KF is 10 yrs ago he had an NFL O and D line and had 3 monster Defensive players (Greenway/Hodge/Sanders) that made up for bad Defensive schemes, making many plays.

Have seen nothing special/ingenuitive, etc in ANYTHING KF has done. The only time I saw that was the 18-minute span at PITT when we scored 28 points, and, we all thought KF finally 'got it'--using our talent and a QB who can throw downfield. INSTEAD, he locked the coaches in the office after the game and said 'that worked WAY too good, we can NEVER do that again'. Of course, we never did see that again.

BTW, I AM a FAN. That's why I care that we lose and AREN'T getting what we are paying for (4 mill coach). If I didn't care, or WASN'T a Hawk fan, I would be grinning ear-to-ear about our constant ineptness. Get a clue what an actual 'fan' is!

Spin....you do it well. Let's only look at the last 8 years. Why 8? Why not 10? That's an easy one. Lets toss 2009 because that doesn't fit either. Let's call 2008 when we were 9-4 and beat highly ranked Missouri to end the year a bad year. Let's call those 8-5 years totally worthless too. Despite during the last 10 years only Florida State managed to go to as many bowl games as we did....we sucked right? I don't know what games you watched.

Take the dick out of your mouth next time you think BRAH!

2008 we beat South Carolina to end the year. Mizzou was 2010...

We were discussing in another thread the "sea level" for Iowa football under Ferentz. It was deemed pretty definitely that 7-5 is about where this team should be in an average regular season. Under that assumption (and looking just at the records) we've had:

5 seasons above average
5 seasons below average
4 seasons right at the average

I don't mind talking the good years with the bad. The thing is, the one outlier after the initial run of good years (2002-2004) is 2009 and I don't even think that's the best team we've had in the last 8 years. The 2008 team with Shonn Greene probably beats the 2009 team...teams aren't supposed to get the kind of breaks we got that year. The ping pong interception, 7 got 6, blocking 2 FG's consecutively to win vs. an FCS school, blocking a punt when we have a return set up and returning it for a (what turned out to be) game winning touchdown, our QB throwing TD passes for the other team at an alarming rate, almost losing nearly every game we won, drawing the best possible opponent in the Orange Bowl, and having a defense that covered up for the ills of the offense. 2009 was not a great team...but man did we catch all the breaks.

So keep 2002 (our best team, 2003 (probably one of two good coaching jobs done by the staff), 2004 (see 2003), 2008 (at the end of the year probably our 2nd best team of the KF era), and 2009 in there...no spin, while there was a brief uptick for about a calendar year from when Stanzi was named the starter in 2008 to the end of the season-beginning winning streak in 2009, there really isn't a whole lot to see since 2004. And you can't ignore the fact that we've had some brutally egregious game day coaching in that time period.

As for your last line...way to keep it classy.
