Not sure where you are getting your information but this is what Rob said yesterday.
 
Just because they are not on the depth chart does not mean they are out. I don’t think there is any reason why Iowa would say they are for sure out. They will play it close to the chest.

Just as UW is saying Van Ginkel is questionable when he is likely out.

I thought Kirk said yesterday I K-M was available this week? No?
 
Not sure what TV screen that flashed on but that's not accurate as of now.

KF said Sunday that IKM, ISM and Banwart all had a chance to be back at practice this morning. We have a press conference with KF this afternoon and should get an update.

Van Ginkel and Nueville were listed as questionable by Wisconsin on Monday. Neither has been ruled out.

If Welch was out it'd be front page of every Hawkeye site on the internet. You getting your Big 10 news from HGTV again?
 
I have no facts but my guess is that ISM could have played last week if needed. They wanted him ready to go for this week.

Can you ask him to talk about Amani Jones? He was the guy coming into week 1 and didn't last long; just wondering what they saw that made them pull him so fast after there was a lot of hype. The two bush league penalties during kicks last week couldn't have helped.
 
In my experience, you can usually add 2-4 weeks to however long Kirk says someone is going to be out. If he says someone "can start practicing" then I figure it will be another couple of weeks before that person plays. Not always, but that is how it usually shakes out.
 
Has there been any change in how forthcoming coaches need to be with this info specific to legalized sports betting? Do college teams now need to provide an "official" injury report, and if so, when during the week is this required?

Wait, this is a Kirk offense.

As far as injuries go, we do have a bye immediately after Wisconsin, giving any dinged up player an extra week to rest and giving them an even better chance of being ready for Minnesota and beyond. Coaches will be doin' a little 'cruitin that week as well.

Not yet as far as I know, but I would assume next year or soon after you might see some rule changes on mandatory injury reports.
