Ingram needs to play more minutes.

I agree,,,, he has attributes that we seem to be lacking on the floor - athleticism, explosiveness, toughness and fearlessness.

Especially his quicks. Man he's got a great first step. The last two games even while playing less than 5 minutes you can see he is the best athlete on the floor.

Agree. Heard the post game and McCaffrey said he is trying to get him more minutes. At some point he needs to quit talking about it and do it. Ingram made a great move tonight, but didn't finish. He needs more reps, as he is a guy that can help us in conference play.

We will see more of him as the season progresses. He will probably get a few more minutes heading into the final non-conference games.

I also think Basabe should start. Playing McCabe at the 4 with White at the 3 is dangerous. Way too slow on the perimeter.

Not sure why May plays anymore. Ingram is just as good and most likley a better on ball defender which is supposedly why May plays.

The difference in offensive ability is obvious.

I really like what I saw from Ingram, Clemmons and Woody tonight. I think Gesell played pretty well in the first half too. This is the foundation, and nights like tonight will be valuable assets down the road. The thing I like the most about all of them is there is a toughness, an edge to them. Good group.

Not to mention what made White so great last year was not floating around the perimeter, but working the baseline, cutting, and getting put backs. He is not a threat on the perimeter, despite all we heard about him improving his shooting over the offseason. He shouldn't play the 3 spot. Period.

who took the ball to the rim hard twice last night? Ingram or Clemmons? Or 1 of ea?
One was shot fake from 3 w/drive down baseline to rim. Something we haven't seen from Iowa guards much the past 5+ yrs outside of Marble and Jake Kelly but both had the length to do it.

That was Clemmons. Good move and nice finish.

we also heard that Clemmons couldn't shoot very well either, and he as proven that wrong for the most part

Ingram can't shoot. That tends to limit the min you can play.

Well our current starting 3 can't shoot at all and his backup, May, can't shoot drive or pass. He can play D, but so can Ingram and Ingram can do allot more things offensively even if hes not a shooter.

If you can handle the ball, get to the rim and finish or pass well it tends to limit the amount of jump shots you need to take.

Wait, just a week ago people were saying Ingram should have been redshirted and it was a dumb move to burn his shirt for the playing time he is going to get. Which one is it?

Ingram isn't a 3!

Clemmons
Gesell
Marble
White
Woodbury

Those are your 5. Ingram can take Clemmons or Gesell's minutes off the bench. Oglesby can take Marble's minutes off the bench and Basabe can get White or Woodbury or mix lineups between those 8. May and Mccabe can ride the bench, they provide nothing. Go with 8, just because Fran is playing 10 guys doesnt mean he has the depth to do it.
