Indy @ MSU and Iowa

Lol at his suggestion to increase the amount of fouls to 6 because the game has gotten so physical

You are right, increasing the fouls is just a dumb idea. It will lead to even more physical play, as you have an extra foul to give now.

I hate how inconsistent the officiating is. They let you beat the sh!t out of each other all night, they let Craft and other guards two hand check the ball all night, and then they the whistle a big when he tries to hedge the pick and roll 30 ft. from the basket????

I think the BIG officiating is the worst. Other conferences call the games tighter, and the players adjust, and ultimately they don't foul as much. I think letting the game get even more physical by calling less fouls, or allowing players to foul more (6 personal fouls), would fragment the game even more. The bothersome thing now is they let the players play so physical all game long, and then just throw out ticky tack fouls for no rhyme or reason during the game.

Physical?? It was like a football game including the tackling. Players were cutting through the lanes to receive a pass and were getting hammered, just clobbered and no foul calls.

Then at the end they call that almost/maybe phantom foul on IU on the 3 point shot.

Who says the refs are going to swallow their whistles at the games end.

Totally bad, inconsistent officiating. ONe, thing I am happy to see the crying Izzo's go down although the Pouting Crean's arent much better.

Crean is quickly moving up my list of despised coaches. His idiotic faces and running up and down the sidelines along with the constant butthurt gets old.

Anybody else hear him ask Samantha Ponder last night if she could believe they called "that foul" before their postgame interview started?

Also, after both B1G losses this year Crean has refused comment to the media.

Then change the officiating, don't change the rules.

Really enjoy watching Oladipo play. Kid is a great athlete and continues to improve his overall game.

Last night: 19 pts, 9 rebounds, 5 steals, and a block.

Gotta agree. Call the game the way it's supposed to be called, and it's all good. And yes, the inconsistency drives me nuts. Sometimes you get away with murder, and then sometimes every little ticky-tack touch foul is called.

I sometimes wonder if the Big Ten being so physical actually hurts it come NCAA Tournament time, when the games may be officiated differently, and the extra contact is not allowed.

Frankly, I prefer to see games with fewer whistles rather than a free throw shooting contest. But that doesn't mean I want to watch a mugging, either. I want to watch basketball, not football on hardwood.

The game is much more fun to watch when the officials make teams play D, not mug ball. The scoring will come up, by taking away such physical play. Yet that is the way the Bo survives, and Lick was trying to do the same thing. Bulk players up, play physical, shorten the game, and boooooooooooore the fans to freaking death!

Vitale was an embarrassment. Magic needs to splash some HIV blood into his mouth and shut him up!

I dislike Vitale as much as the next guy but I wouldn't wish HIV on the guy.

Besides if you watched South Park, you would know he was cured by cash.

On BTNs The Pulse the other night, they floated the idea of not having any maximum number of fouls (i.e. a player cannot foul out). However, once a player commits his 6th or beyond, the other team gets an automatic 2 shots, and, keep the ball. The player committing the foul can continue to play. Interesting.

For us old timers, the no foul out rule (with 2 FTs and the ball back) is from the old ABA basketball league. :)

I have no issues with Crean and that call was horrible...no other time is that called unless it is at Duke.

It was an awful call. That was not my point.

Everytime Crean loses he speedwalks past the opposing coaches and barely acknowledges them when he shakes hands. Last night he wants to make out with Izzo and embrace for 5 minutes. I know they used to work together.

Crean is a walking doosh bag.

The doosh is Izzo for comparing last night to the "Harbowl" can't stand that whiner...

I've talked about officials swallowing the whistle late in close games. And I think it should be noted that MSU, the home team, got the benefit of that horrendous call. Indiana would never have gotten that call on the other end in that situation.

MSU loses another tough one today @ OSU. Two losses in a row.

And I think scUM runs them out of the gym next. Wisconsin could also have their number.

3/4 losses for sure...maybe 4 in a row for Sparty.
