Indiana Athletic Department Contact Information

I'm done b*thcing. I have a little plan, but I need someone to forward me the contact information for Indiana's Athletic Department and I'll need 500 men to support me in my efforts. If you are in, all you need to do is copy and paste the following, with some of your own tweaks, into an email or letter to the AD and pony up a little cash.

Dear AD:

As a lifelong Hoosier fan and Indiana alum, I thank you for your recent staff changes with respect to the football program. I respectfully request that you consider Iowa's current offensive coordinator, Kenneth "the Maestro" O'Keefe for the open head coach position. Mr. O'Keefe's record at the University of Iowa is flawless and he has managed to consistently out think his opposition. Iowa's win-loss record during his tenure speaks for itself. We need a coach who has experience rebuilding a program, and Mr. O'Keefe has demonstrated that he has this experience, as when he arrived at the University of Iowa, the program was in roughly the same shape that our beloved program is currently in. In addition, Mr. O'Keefe will have instant credibility with the people of the State of Indiana, as he was solely responsible for turning Dallas Clark into one of the best players in the NFL and biggest celebrities in the State.

In furtherance of my request, I hereby pledge to donate [PROLES, INSERT WHATEVER AMOUNT YOU WANT TO IN THIS BOX, I'M PUTTING IN A GRAND] to the Athletic Department to help defray the expenses associated with hiring Mr. O'Keefe. Though I have not been in touch with Mr. O'Keefe's representatives, it is my understanding that he is currently paid around $250,000 per year and we should be able to hire him for around $500,000 to $600,000. With a fund raising drive that I am spearheading, I believe we can raise enough to defray at least one half of Mr. O'Keefe's annual salary in his first year and as he turns the program around, additional donations are sure to follow. Finally, this is an ideal hire because it will weaken Iowa's program further, giving the Crimson and Cream a chance to overtake them in the near future.

Sincerely,

Thank god you are done ********. That means you will not be posting anything, since it is all you post. Goodbye...enjoy supporting Fitz and NW.

Brilliant - that is quite possibly the funniest thing I've seen on this message board :)

That's pretty funny. Doubt anyone is dumb enough to fall for that though. Even if they are from IU.

Well, I have proposed an "O'Keefe For President 2012" campaign and now this. Ferentz ain't gonna fire him and I am running out of ideas. Short of convincing one of those coaching search firms that he is an up and comer, what do you suggest?

the other ten coaches threatened to blow up the Iowa campus, if O'keefe is found coaching anywhere else; don't worry---the other 10 basketball coaches threatened the same if Lick was let go; nothing happened.

After reading on ESPN that KOK is a candidate for the opening I think this would be a good time to bump this thread.

OK4P-

I think you work in the mail room. No way anyone else has this much time on their hands.

Actually I know better. The proles in the mail room actually work for their money.

This is hilarious... not so much the letter (which was funny), but the great amount of people who are really wishing KoK well by hoping he gets this Indiana job. It shows how much he was loved and will be missed by the Iowa fans. I think he just wants an excuse to spend some time in the pink locker room.
To tell you the truth, I don't think he would be out there shopping for a job if KF didn't tell him to start looking, and I think he would make a better head coach than offensive coordinator. I know many people who were better in the advanaced job than they were in the jobs that got them there... I am sure many of you do. If he were to get himself an OC that knows how to run a 2 minute drill, and isn't predictable... he already fully understands the effects the offense has on our own defense, this has been drilled into his head here and he might have to let a little of that go. He actually would be a great hire for Indiana if he could put the right staff together... that would be the tricky and interesting part.

I don't think it really matters if he stays or goes....Iowa's new OC (if there is as one, and that is anything but certain) will run the offense the way Kirk wants it run. Unless Kirk changes his stripes and decides to become more aggressive (in a general sense), nothing is going to change.

I concur... this is ultimately Kirk who chose for him to coach this way. KoK was doing what Kirk wanted... or he would have been released years ago. The next man in (if applicable) will be someone who Kirk pushes to run a ball control, ToP, field position offense too. He isn't wanting an offensive coordinator that puts a lot of points on the board... this would go against his strategy. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it is true.

Kirk would be hard pressed to find an OC willing to sacrifice what many would consider the main goal of an offensive coordinator... scoring points!

It doesn't sound ridiculous at all. I made the exact same point to someone the other day. I would add though that lots of points would be okay as long as we take lots and lots of time to get them.
