Indiana and ISU will be tough games

In what should be two of the easier games on the schedule, Indiana and ISU will pose a big threat to Iowa this year. Indiana will be handful and ISU's D looks pretty good.

Indiana is playing a team that was 2-9 in 1AA last year. They have also been a little suspect on D. I'll hold off on jumping on the Indiana bandwagon at this point.

And I'll completely judge ISU's defense after they play a QB who can actually throw the ball. ISU's offense is impressive though.

Indiana also gave up over 200 yards of offense to that team that went 2-9 last year...in the first half.

ISU looks decent so far tonight. They've played pretty good but NIU hasn't played worth a crap. Missed fg's, a qb wo can't throw, and a bad defense are typically going to make the opponent look good.

are you watching.....I'm serious??? ISU is not good on defense....if NIU had a decent QB this game would be in doubt

They don't have a good QB...and this game is still in doubt.

If NIU handed off to Spann every play they would be winning.

Of course that's why NIU's coach is coaching at NIU and not in the Big Ten.

The stupidty never ceases to amaze me. Instead of looking at scores try watching the games. Isu's D is horrible and Hampton is going to have 200 yards if this D shows up at Kinnick.

I have to tell you, I'm not at all concerned w/ ISUs zone read system w/ our DL. We just watched the D completely shut down the best "gimmick" offense in CFB in January. Sorry ISU fans, I'm in the show me state.

Both ISU and IU feature quality Os. How exactly is that a revelation to people?

What folks SHOULD take away is that ISU is pretty good. NIU is a quality team and ISU had some stretches where they were playing ball at a VERY high level.

IU, in contrast, played pretty well ... but the level of competition was VERY low. The very fact that IU gave up 14 points in the 1st half is still kinda telling.

Who on ISU would start for Iowa?

Three ISU OL would have a shot at starting for Iowa.
Lamaak
Hicks
Osemele

At QB...I'll call it a tossup with Stanzi being a better passer but Arnaud being a much better runner. Both are known to make some bad decisions resulting in pick 6's.

RB...Robinson starts for either team.

TE...Franklin and Reisner are too close to call.

I would take Iowa's WR's, Mcnutt and DJK, over ISU's top 2.

A definite no to Hicks. If Iowa wasn't a pro-set team with zone blocking schemes ... Osemele could start for Iowa. Regardless of scheme, I think that Lamaak could start for the Hawks.
