In other news: How do you think Aaron Fuller is feeling about his decision?

His team is brutal and they play the same type of ball that Lick did.

Not sure how he feels. He is closer to home now and his family can see more of his games in person. If he is from closer to Iowa City maybe he stays. His home is far from Iowa. He might just enjoy being close to home where family can watch him play ball while enjoying school, friends and life.

That's a legit argument but playing for USC won't get him on TV very much. In fact, tonights USC v ASU game isn't even broadcast online.

Mesa is six hours from LA, so not an awful drive and ASU and Zona are close. I have no idea if games are shown locally but his family can attend games. He seemed like a good kid and played his butt off. I wish he was still around. I dont mind his choice to transfer. Gatens and Brommer are so close to home it was easier for them to stay.

So why didn't he transfer to ASU or Arizona if that was the case? He left because he thought he could be on a better team. Yes being 'closer' to home was probably a factor but it wasn't the only factor.

They just lost to a team that has only 6 scholarship players on the roster tonight. He will likely spend his Sr season under the leadership of a new coach.

1. It could have easily been more about getting away from Lickliter. I know he left even after Fran was hired, but by that time his mind seemed to be already made up.

2. It is closer to home, and way more of his games would be on TV for his family than he'd have gotten here.

3. There's more to life than basketball. If he's happier with his surroundings than he was here, then good for him.

No kid at USC ever said, "There's nothing to do but go to the bars downtown here." USC is one of the top ranked universities in the nation. Quick and cheap Southwest flights to AZ. White-sweaters on song girls. Can go watch Paul lob to Griffin. Rollerblade for miles up the coast. Don't have any of those, "if it just gets to 20, I can go outside without freezing my face off" days.

Think he is fine.

Water under the bridge, but I have wondered how much of a difference Fuller could have made this season. In reality, probably not enough to overcome the issues that led to our blowout losses, but he is the perfect player for McCaffrey's style.

With all that went on while he was here, hard to blame him for pursuing other pastures, even if not greener from a W-L perspective. He was kind of like White if memory serves...kind of under recruited initially, but had a strong senior year and was Mr. Basketball his senior year in AZ correct?

Look, I didn't even play for Iowa during the Lickliter era, and it was so painful that I wanted to move back in with my parents.

If only someone would have told him about the mild winters around here. :)

I remember hearing about James Moses walking around campus in a coat and ear muffs...when it was sunny and temps in the mid 50s...

James, if you ever lurk these boards to keep up with the alma-mater, can you please verify!?!?

He has toughened up a little bit since then, but yeah I'm sure those early days in Iowa were rough.
