In Iowa's last National Championship season

In week 2 Iowa played Air Force. They expected an easy win. Iowa had just shut out TCU, and The Air Force had only had a football team for 2 years. However this game ended in a 13-13 tie.

Iowa used this tie as motivation to play harder for the rest of the season. Iowa went on to win both the Big 10 and national championships. Evy actually credited this game saying "If we had beaten the Air Force we never in the world would have won the Big Ten championship."

This team can do the same following Saturday's game. They can all use it to thier advantage psychologically as they play for the Big 10 championship again. I too believe that they will.
 
I have not seen them play, they are not on the schedule anyways. Iowa's defense is giving up less then 13 (9.5 with Jewell) points per game this year. Johnson, Jewell and King are as good as they come. I have confidence in them doing their jobs in both the regular season and post season.

OMG....The only reason this team has been ranked is because of the cupcake schedule and playing in the crappy west division.
 
Some people also said that Iowa's early schedule was too weak in 1985 and 2008. However Iowa went on to beat #2 Michigan in 1985, and #3 Pedo State in 2008. As long as they get to work on the things that they need to work on, and come out relatively healthy it's fine.
