Boy this is fun to watch. This team has a great mixture of players that include many plug-n-play players that are versatile and long. Need a player. Plug him in. Iowa has the three headed monster with Uthoff, Jok, Gessel/Clemmons. Iowa can have two point guards on the court at a given time. What a luxury. Woodbury is in the middle plugging up the lane & wreaking havoc along with rebounding the ball.
A bonus for Iowa is that a number of players such as Baer, Uhl, Ellingson, Wagner can give you 8-10 points and can lift the team up if any of the three headed monster's scoring is down. Iowa has the players to plug-n-play to keep the flow of the game going & provide some offense.
What is real key for the years to come after this year when the upperclassman graduate is the experience these young players are getting, not only in games but in practicing against this current roster with its length. What undoubtedly is the most difficult for young players coming out of HS is adjusting to the speed of the game and length of the players at the college level. These players are getting valuable experience with the speed of the game and are going up against this length on a daily basis. This even includes players like Williams. This will pay huge dividends for future seasons.
Who would have thought the basketball team this year would match the success & results of the football team. Exciting times at Iowa.
