I'm tired of being laughed at

I was prepared to accept a tough season, especially after the player defections of the past two years and Tucker's problems this year. I wasn't so focused on W's and L's as I was on this team being competitive night in and night out. If they were showing improvement, great, the program is showing progress. We've got a good class coming in that hopefully will provide some needed help a ways down the road.

What I can't tolerate is the embarrassment of the last three road games and the fact that opposing players are LAUGHING at our line-up. In my business, if I thought a rival was laughing at us, the next time out they'd get a quick elbow to the nose and a facial dunk. I blame Todd Lickliter, both for the quality of product he's putting on the floor and for inserting in the lineup his son, who clearly has no place in a D1 program.

I agree with others who've posted that this team seemed to be getting better three or four weeks ago. But since then it has been mostly downhill, and at a rate faster than Lindsey Vonn. The season can't end soon enough. If it was possible to forfeit the next games against Minny and Wishagain, I'd say do it.

I don't expect a group of freshmen, no matter how highly rated, to contribute significantly next season. I think it's delusional to think this program will be significantly better next year, or even the year after that.

Time for Barta to make a decision.

Yeah, beating Indiana was a move downhill, even though the are the worst team in the big 10? Additionally, I am shocked that Iowa lost on the raod to Wisconsin. I mean, they are only 136-11 at home under Ryan. Damn you Lickliter for not getting that win!

I completely agree. Although I have to admit that I laughed my *** off when Lick got dunked on and Cougill got his sh*t thrown back in his face when he made his first drive attempt of his career.

Thanks for the input Sir Jam Alot!

See the thing is no one expected to win the game. I don't think most people even thought the Hawks would cover. The problem is that it was embarrassing to be an Iowa basketball fan last night. It looked like a varsity/ jv game last night.

16 pts at the half and 40 for the game, no-one here expected Iowa to go into Wisconsin and win, but somewhat competitive would have been nice!

There is one ? that last nights game answered for me, and that was how bad Indiana really is, especially on D!!

Indiana & Iowa are currently in a league of their own, & my friends, it's NOT GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stop complaining. Wisconsin had a good come from behind win... lol

we did lead at one point.

Your continued support of Lickliter no matter what happens is admirable.

Just because wisconsin is good at home doesnt mean a 30 point blowout should be acceptable

The issue is not the fact that Iowa lost the game last night. It is that the team was basically done mid-way through the first half. 40 points overall. This was not a game after the first t.v. timeout. Losing is one thing. Losing and not being competetive at all is something totally different.

The problem is going on the road and being blown out over and over and over again.

Can't you see that?

Regarding the win over Indiana.. This was a home game, and show me a team that doesn't play better at home than on the road. Iowa is no exception. Forgive us for not celebrating a win over Indiana. A team with an RPI somewhere around 200?

Beating the Hoosiers ain't what it used to be, in case you hadn't noticed.

This is not because I'm happy with the direction of the program when I post this by any means.....

but I'm sick and tired of people complaining about the situation and seeking Barta to make a change right now.

It's pretty simple.... if you want a change all you have to do is walk into Barta's office with a check that is 4 x $600,000 or roughly 2.4 million. It's easy to demand something when it doesn't cost you a penny. Put your money where your mouth is..... money talks so where is it ????

This could be the worst argument ive ever seen. So let me get this straight - if you dont have enough money to pay for the buyout of the coach you arent allowed to voice an opinion of change? ok

I'm not saying your opinion does not matter because it does,,,, i'm just saying unless you have the coin to do something about the situation your opinion is fruitless in reality.

A change will happen when the time is right and the money is there.

I'd say there's about 10,000 missing people from Carver that's opinion will have a lot to say about this before it's all said and done.

I'm sorry for your troubles, Tweeter, but shouldn't this be on the Off Topic board? ;)

You're probably correct, Freddy, but I couldn't get an insurance referral over there.
