Illinois @ South Florida on ESPN 6:00

Lovie Smith had played 26 freshmen, both true freshmen and redshirts going into this game. Some of the players, the linemen especially just aren't ready for B1G play, or even AAC play tonight.

With Illinois down by 28 points with just 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, they could use some points in this drive.

They are super friggin young right now. One of the younger teams in the country.

They need to get experience quick. They miss tackles, and leave the middle of the field wide open, etc.

But Im not that knowledgeable about the tampa two. Maybe the middle is the soft spot.

That was Larry Boyd, three star recruit playing as a true freshman, 6-6 340 in the media guide, who was injured.

I guess that interception by Jeff George Jr with 31 second left and down 24 has put this game out of reach.

I thought I heard the announcers say that Illinois is the youngest team in football. They've got some talent there. Just going to take some time. Hope it takes forever. Lol

Dorsey, Epstein and Smalling all looked promising and are all freshman. Dudek looked sharp too - is back from some nasty ACL tears. Epstein is fast - reminds me of Canzeri as he can run and catch. Dorsey looks like B!G TE in the making. Give these guys a couple years and Lovie will have something.

Okay, tune into ESPN News channel to catch the thrilling conclusion of this game.

I actually bet the over in the game so it was still thrilling to me a few minutes into the 4th :p

They covered before they switched it though. So that was nice.
