Illinois at IOWA prediction thread.

34-21 Hawks
I just don't see Illinois being able to stop Iowa, but they will put together some drives and put some points up against our D. It's a good test for the secondary before they head to Northwestern.

ILL scored 14 against UNC and NU. Above I gave them credit for improving with 3 scores.

I'll revise it to this.

Iowa 35 ILL 10

there I said it.

Iowa slams the ball right up their gut with Daniels/Canzeri until Illinois creeps up with safeties and corners and CJ gets Jerminic Smith his first catch which will also be his first touchdown on a play action 60+ yard pass.

King gets another INT, this time he'll return it for a TD.

Illinois, coming off that emotional (but way too close) win against a crumbling Nebraska just can't get it together and Iowa rolls, covering the spread easily.

Iowa 35, Illinois 17

Illinois has a much better defense than last year, but their offense hasn't yet faced a defense as good as Iowa. Both teams have key offensive players out with injury.

So....I think it will be:

Iowa 24
Illinois 10

Iowa shuts down the Illinois running game and makes plays on special teams.

This week's msg will be that we have an offense...plus our defense will not go away...

Hawks win in a breakout game 34-6.

This is about the time of year where they have that "click" game. You all know the one -- the lead-up is filled with anxiety, only to see them up 28-0 by halftime on their way to sh!t-stomping a decent team, lead us to buy in and believe they should beat every team left -- only to be followed by some "WTF?! How'd they lose to them?!" skid mark.

Here's to breaking that trend, keeping them focused, and actually going on to beat all those team left on the schedule that they should beat!

Hawks 26 - Illannoy 20.

6-0 b^tches, bowl eligible, how many other teams will be able to say that at 2:30pm Sautrday afternoon?
