Illinoiis over the Spartans 21 -9 with about 10 minutes left in first half......

Tied at half time......

I bet a thousand bit coins on this game. I even got 1 point plus the Illini....

Who wouldn't jump on that giveaway.....

You'd think if Illinois and Nebraska could go into East Lansing and win or play tough that Iowa would be able to as well but the main reason that doesn't equate is because MSU is about as bad of match-up possible for Iowa. Iowa is a very soft team, MSU is very physical. Throw in the fact that MSU is now healthy, at East Lansing where Iowa hasn't won since dirt (and not even close) plus high probability of TV Teddy reffing that game and forget about it. This game will be Iowa's worst and biggest lost of the season without a doubt. Just a bad, bad match-up.

Fran would have been tossed out of the game if he acted with Ted Valentine like Cronin did today....

Not even a T.....

I also can't remember the last time we won there also. I do remember an 8 point loss there, perhaps Fran's second year.....

It would be miraculous......

Actually, as poorly as we shot at Carver, going a very long stretch without a field goal we could have won with a last second shot in regulation. That simply doesn't happen with the Hawks. Then we had a chance to tie it in OT when Mike G was fouled on a last second layup. Of course, the refs usually don't call a last second foul in OT unless it is very obvious, which the foul on Gesell was.....

It was very surprising that we went into overtime the way we were shooting......

At this point wouldn't a Michigan St. win be more beneficial to Iowa?

No, because it shows how tough the Big is top to bottom. On a given night/day any team can win.....

Takes some of the stain off the Hawk losses, no surprise that we lost to Wisconsin and Minny is playing tough.

Edit: Indiana beat Wisconsin and Michigan and Iowa at Bloomington

Michigan State has lost 3 0f the last 4 games. Seems like an Iowa style slump to me.....

One would get the impression that the Hawks are the only Big team to go into a slump.....

The fact that Nebraska and Illinois win at MSU and Iowa gets killed makes it even more frustrating to take this season.

Not quite certain what you are saying.....

The facts are that teams, even the Spartans go into slumps.....

That is all there is to it, in reality.....

So does this make us more worried about Illinois or more hopeful about our chances at MSU?

That is the question, indeed.....

I would imagine we lose at MSU, but maybe not, they obviously have flaws. I think we win the last conference game at Carver. We usually do over the years, why we even beat number four Purdue at Carver the last game of the season Fran's first year.....
