I'll be honest for one second....

Iowa should not be rid of Fran so much for the pathetic x's and o's job last nite, as much as the fact that Iowa has no business running some of the same players out on the court year after year. ISU reloads on the fly at ALL positions, and we are stuck in neutral for several years at a time with a Center that has the mobility of Herman Munster, and a Guard who turns into Super Spaz down the stretch of every close game. It is Fran's pizz poor recruiting that bothers me the most....Jim Boeheim has proven that you can win it all with average at best coaching ability provided you land true talent. Identically with Switzer at OU in the 70's and 80's. It also amazes me how ISU also lands year after year players who truly enjoy going for the jugular, while we continue to bring in mental midgets with zero ability to fight and get nasty when the time comes to do so. Iowa has become ISU's biatch in hoops...sorry, it's the truth.

Well, he almost had a kid that Kentucky stole away at the last minute. Woodbury was a prize recruit who we all know turned down North Carolina for Iowa. So he hasn't developed like anyone thought. Would any Iowa fan have turned him down at the time? Don't think so. Tyler Cook is a great recruit, potentially. Iowa isn't Kentucky. I think it's similar to the football team where you need to find gems like Aaron White and then occasionally land high star recruits who DO pan out.

ISU is going to drop a lot after this year. They aren't going to make it long term being Transfer U with Freddy gone now. Even with all that, Iowa loses by 1 at Hilton. I think if the Hawks had made the comeback and lost by 1 then everyone would have been thrilled. Sure, it was disappointing losing the big lead, fighting them off to get up 6 again with a minute left and then blowing it. But have some persective.

That is BS! ISU may drop a little for one year, but then out of thin air they are right back in the Top 20 again....this happens every time Iowa thinks they are about to have the upper hand. They Plug and Play year after year with diamonds found in the rough, while we are forced to stay the course with sub-par talent....I DO have some prospective having watched this same scenario play out between these two schools for the last 20 years.

Maybe have not heard, the Mayor has left L'ames for Chicago. I doubt Prohm recruits at the same level.

If I can be honest again Sioux, I'm not worried how well ISU is going to recruit as much as I'm concerned about how poor of a job Fran is doing recruiting in year 6.

Incorrect. This year, four of their starters are seniors. The junior will probably declare for the NBA (yes, Morris is that good). They will have a huge drop in talent next year. Prohm, by his history at Murray St, isn't the kind of guy who is going to let a lot of crap go on like Freddy did. Kids get in trouble with the law, they will face consequences unlike what happened under Freddy. The transfer market will dry up as there are a lot of other schools have figured out what Freddy did a few years earlier and they have a much more to offer than Ames, IA. They won't be able to "reload out of thin air". They won't be able to "plug and play year after year with diamonds found in the rough" as that takes transfers and those types of players won't be looking at Ames any longer. Prohm may keep them relevant but they will face a drop next year.

You might want to look at Iowa's roster for next year and focus your worries there.

The topic wasn't Iowa, it was ISU. He was supporting my statement that the CLOWNS will indeed drop off next year. Stay on task.

They lose four senior starters and if Morris is smart, he'll leave too. They might take the biggest fall in CBB next year. Not to mention, they are only using 2 players off of the bench for the most part.

You might want to look up a little Cyclone history if you think they've reloaded for 20 year. Under Hoiberg, yes, but other than that Tim Floyd is about as close as you're going to get to reloading. Take away Hoiberg's teams and the clones only have six 20 win seasons since '95, and three of those are Floyd's first seasons from '95 - 97.

But then hyperbole isn't unusual for Playmaker.

Take away 1941 - 1945 and the United States Military really didn't have all that many casualties.

I am not doubting what you are saying about Tyler Cook, but could you please give some supporting evidence please as I could use some cheering up after the last two losses (the one in football and the one in basketball) Thank you.

Not trolling....he responded to me...dummy.

The biggest irony about Fran's recruiting is the people that complain about this are the same people that complain about said highly recruited players that don't play well.

Fran's recruiting is fine... he is fine...

Besides the last 2 min of close games - Houston we have problems.
