If you were Iowa's O-Coordinator

I was with a bunch of SEC guys

Is that a new team? What's their mascot?

For a team with no speed on the outside and receivers who drop a ton of passes, this sounds like a tremendous idea. Two 3-and-outs to start the game would be superfantastic.

Weisman at fullback, would have designed fullback runs 3-5 times a game.

Canzeri would be starting RB

Bullock would be used as a receiver 25% of plays.

Would have more 3 TE sets and throw more to TE's.

More timing routes 7 yards out +

My mix of plays would be much more unpredictable than what we have now.

That's about it for now.

I would split both Duzey & CJF out occasionally, and bring the WRs in. Give the D some bad choices to make in coverage.

I would ask if there is anyone on this staff that can recruit because it is impossible to win in the Big 10 with the talent that Iowa consistently brings in.

I would game plan personnel to take advantage of each opponent's weaknesses. This might sound obvious, but I don't see us maximizing on this (other than OSU). Instead, I see mostly "here we are, here is what we do, now try and stop us." I also think we could add the jet sweep using Canzeri or Bullock and maybe even Powell. We need to break tendancies each game plan. I think we should put in packages for both qb's. LD needs 15 carries a game and Canzeri/Bullock 15 per. Don't be afraid to go 4 wides and send them on 4 go patterns and then run a screen w/Canzeri.

move to more of a straight ahead power blocking scheme until you can find someone who can consistently run behind a zone blocking scheme. do whatever it takes(legally) to get some wide receivers on campus.

Did you not see the redskins fullback get all three TDs on Sunday. The pros still use the FB plenty,

nope, don't watch pro football at all. I'm GUESSING it was on a goal line situation so those don't really count. I'm talking about the MIDDLE of the field, keeping the defense guessing as to who gets the ball. you know, like back in the 1970s when teams used to use full backs and half backs somewhat equally. if we're gonna go old school, do it right. TE passes are key, as are PA passes though. Can't just run all the time unless you get 400+ yards.

Thats what i am talking about, old school. Keep them on thier heels. We have four backs, one who can and has played fb. Put a rb out there with him and when they need rest, put in another fb and rb.

I agree full backs need more carries, and tight ends need more passes. Put the bigger running backs in at full back part time also to give the fb position more of a chance to pick up meaningful yards.
