If we keep getting hosed on officiating..

The game was reasonably/fairly officiated. Yes they missed a bunch of calls, but they let them go on both ends of the court. Iowa will always look like we are getting the short end of the whistle when we have all of our big men are lean, and run like gazelles. The big power forward type, which MSU, MN, and OSU have will get a few extra calls their way. I don't think there is any way around it. Our big guys need to learn how to fall to the flour when they get bumped. Woodbury got called for putting his shoulder into the MN player way past the three point line. The guy got up into his space. If he would have fallen, the other guy would have gotten the silly foul, and would have to back up his pressure. Woody got called for another foul in the second half, outside the 3 pt line again. Silly tacky foul because he wasn't set. It is a learning point that he will figure out as he goes. Bottom line: I think the refs were OK against MN.

The worst part for me was when the officials kept making Iowa miss free throws down the stretch. And wouldn't let Hawkeye defenders go out and cover the 3 point shot. And then, the absolute killer was when the referee took the ball down court, dribbled out of control, and then threw the ball out of bounds with White wide open on the pick and roll. The Big Ten should do an investigation.

This is a solid post.

And then when the officials made Clemons miss that follow up tip in and three late in the game. It's not the officials that lose games, just as bartman didn't cost the cubs a World Series visit. There are lots and lots of plays in a game and no bone play or call or official wins or loses a game.

Even the NBA refs miss some calls, like in the Bulls game last nite....Pacers have a tenuous 4 pt lead with less than 2 minutes to play, Bulls shoot, scramble for ball, clearly off a Pacer, ref gives it to Pacers,Thibs asks for a review of play at monitor, ref tells him no need, replay shown, and clearly wrong call, and Pacers come down and hit a quick 3 pointer to push lead to 7...game over. It was inexcusable that they did not take the time to look at the play, which is allowed within 2 minutes of game over, but they were just too lazy....not good.
