Would Butler consider Lickliter?
Would Lickliter consider working as an assistant to Stevens at Oregon?

I would hope for Coach Lickliter that he would get the chance to coach again. He of course was in way over his head at Iowa and the program is better off going in a different direction. Going back to Butler would be great for his comfort level and he would probably never leave again. I'm glad to see the Hawkeyes under a new coach but wish Lickliter well in whatever he does.

For the last time, he wasn't in "way over his head". I agree that it just didn't work out and he made mistakes but it wasn't due to incompetence. Sometimes, you just make mistakes, take a wrong approach and suffer bad luck. That combination can doom anyone. But the "way over his head" reference isn't fair to the man IMO.
Swirlin, I love the name. I don't see Lickliter going back, you can never go back home.
I'm loving the McCaffery hire, but I wonder if Iowa would have gotten a recruiting bump with Lickliter right now due to Butler's prominence. Who knows?
I'm on board with FM, too. But I, too, am beginning to wonder if Lick was on the long road to rebuilding the program -- albeit with a few bumps and potholes along the way -- and we took away the keys prematurely. That was largely Lick's team that took Duke to the final seconds of the championship game.
