If O'Brien can get through the next 4 years, he'll make PSU a monster

I've watched good portions of every Penn State game this year. After their 0-2 start they have gotten better each week. In Big Ten play, I think they are executing their scheme better than any team in the league and it's not even close. He creates mismatches in the passing game all over the field, especially with his tight ends. You have to tip your cap and respect just how pretty that scheme looks. Right now he's the runaway pick for B1G coach of the year

Exactly, Bill O'Brien is impressive...PSU might be back to my second favorite team after the Hawks in short order. Always liked them before the scandal...but BOB is impressive, and well spoken.

He's also done a good job of making Penn St a team to root for. I've heard from several people now that they are pulling for the kids that stayed. I've said from the time that the sanctions came out that not only would this not cripple the Penn St program but they will come out stronger. The kids that stay are going to be heroes to that fan base, think Kentucky basketball's unforgettables. The loss of depth will hurt but Penn St will still get top level recruits to come, the bowl ban won't hurt as much as people think and he can already begin selling to recruits the opportunity to win a B10 title before they graduate. Penn St will be much closer to their 70's,80's and early-mid 90's results as soon as their sanctions are over.
