If Missouri is not in same league with Texas, they tank

Get this..looking up some data for radio show today after reading in Andy Katz's expansion item that Missouri is feeling some pullback on recruiting trails right now from Texas kids due to conference uncertainty.

There are 32 Texans on the Missouri roster! 32....yes, 32!

That is unreal...crazy unreal

6 defensive starters right now are Texans...QB, TE and one WR starting on offense...that is 9 of 22 starters as of now.

From the 2011-2007 recruiting clsses, those on campus now, 32 scholarship players are Texans...and they have seven commits from Texas so far this year.

Texas HS talent has changed the Missouri football program (Chase Daniels was from Texas). If they are not in the same conference as Texas, it's going to really, really hurt them

plus Mizzou doesn't exactly lock down the state borders and keep the homegrown kids. Iowa, Neb, IL, MN, etc all pluck from St Louis, KC...

Likely due to Mizzou being a pro sports state, and the fact their team has not been good historically. They are getting good, though, and are starting to get the lion's share of the homegrown talent. If they get Dorial Green-Beckham to come that would be a huge coup.

I lived in KC for a couple years....huge pro sports town. Also, when it comes to college sports, KU basketball is bigger than anything else.

Almost the same could be said of Neb. Look at how many Texans they have. Look at where so many of the 4*s from last years class were from. Now look at how many Texas kids they have this year. They pull more players from around the country than Miss, but they are going to be hurting bad for the next few years due to the drop off of Texas talent. It's not like Ohio, Mich, and Penn kids are just going to start choosing to go someplace they'd never considered before overnight.

This is highly overblown. We got 5 of our 19 recruits out of Texas last year, and they knew that we were going to the B1G. We got kids out of Texas back in the old Big 8 days, Steve Taylor, Turner Gill, Broderick Thomas, Lawrence Pete, Travis Hill, Aaron Graham, Aaron Taylor, etc. etc.

It's all about relationships, and we have a national recruiting presence. We will still get kids from Texas, just like we get kids from CA, FL, NJ, LA, and GA, even though we don't play many (if any) games there.

How about Oklahoma? They are more likely to be gone from the B12 than Mizz. And get this, they have no less than 57(!) Texans on their roster!

They are closer to Texas, and a bigger program than Mizz, but wouldn't them leaving for the B12 raise similar issues? No more playing 4 Texas teams a year, no more RRR. It would have to make a BIG impact on their recruiting.
